I'm convinced Pavelski was trying to draw a penalty by going into a Flying Wallenda act, but it ended very badly.

I am warming to the idea of trading for Kadri.
Hopefully Dubus is so pissed he see it as necessary to move him.
Seems like he likes finesse players.

Kadri to Buffalo
Nylander & Malone to Toronto
Cap Space to Toronto (it IS an asset)

Then, I know this is very difficult, but try to pry Josh Anderson from CBus.
StL/SJS 1st, ERod, Scandella (50% retained)

El Paso.

Though he has grit, he is also a head case and winds up hurting his team with stupid penalties at the wrong time. Players got to be on the ice to be of value.

The last player for player trade the Sabres and Leafs engaged in was in 1993 with Dave Andreychuk and Daren Puppa for Grant Fuhr. One other trades happened with the Sabres sending a 2nd to Toronto for Dominic Moore in 2009.

Liklihood: Unlikely.

Good info, and agreed.
Unless their arrogance gets in the way by viewing the Sabres so far in the rear view mirror.
Things happen.
Make the call Botts, get them while in their emotional state

4.5 mill a year for 3 more years, do we want to pay that for him and his issues on the 3rd line? we can put Erod there for cheaper.

3rd line?

he would be our 3rd leading scorer next year when skinner walks

he'd be a second liner here

He would fill the ROR void that’s only if we can get him cheap

From the Leafs thread...
We won't win franking thing until we get some toughness/meanness in the lineup. Period.
To all the clowns that busted balls when people were preaching that we needed toughness and grit, hows that "skill and finesse" game look now ?
I hope you cry yourself to sleep tonight knowing we got out hacked, slashed, bullied, crosschecked, body checked, & mentally intimidated by Boston AGAIN !
You know who you are.
Trade Willy Professionalpokechecklander
& fire Jake Ishouldgobeagardenerinmadisonwisconsininstead
into a black hole sun. He's not that guy, get over it.
Rant over.

Similar posts in the Tampa thread after their epic implosion.

I wish the Sabres had several guys that play the way the Bruins do.

Wonder if any posters responded by saying :

Nylander is "tough" he stands in front of the net?

I'm not convinced that once he's away from being sheltered behind 2 other centers that he'd look that great.

Also, what's up with the o-zone starts this year? 62%

Wasn't he their 3C?

Anyway, what's your offer for him, Risto? Nah

Who is it that you do like?

Seriously, it seems with all you poo- pooing, that you would say no to a McDavid for Nylander trade.

His production is decreasing each year, but still put up 44 pts...although 2 previous years were mid60's and mid-50's.
Could he be a short-term solution at 2C for 1 or 2 years? Could he get back to mid-50's with more ice time in that role?
Maybe, and at $4.5m it would be a bargain....plus the term remaining is ideal.
He is a lucky k head though, I will give you that...but maybe all the commotion will turn these soft players in some guys with balls.

If they could land him on the cheap, I say do it and deal with his lunk-headedness.

I'd take Kadri in a heartbeat.

He's one year removed from back to back 32 goal seasons and plays the game hard. So what if he crosses the line here or there.

We need more of that on this pu$$y-a$$ team.

2 "assets" in
A) saving 4.5m in cap space
B) getting rid of a player who likely cost them the series
And
Scandella at 50% retained...helps them on their D to wich they have very little cap space to address.
Could be a Skinner-esque trade.

We wouldn't be getting 30 goal Kadri. He accomplished that with a superior roster and an above-average sh%

I would expect low 20s used in an offensive role

Does it really matter if we're getting 32 goal Kadri or 23 goal Kadri?

He brings things we're sorely lacking.

So Kadri for Scandella with salary retained? Yeah, I would do that deal all day. I don't think the Leafs would though.

Didn't see the hit until this morning. That should have been a 2 minute penalty, nothing more. Gallant said the explanation he got was that it was a crosscheck to the face. It absolutely wasn't. Vegas got screwed here.

seeing a serious injury should have no baring on the penalty

if a rule was broken a penalty is suppose to be called accordingly

you can't add to the penalty due to an injury, the exception is bleeding from high stick because it's a rule

- homiedclown

Human nature though, refs see a terrible injury:

Must be someone's fault?

Probably should have been 2 for crosschecking
