Next time we feel bad about our defense

2:26, and especially the replay after that shows "icing" was no excuse..

Marleau has been ok to good the last 2 games though.
Players that haven't brought it are mainly Nylander, Kapanen en Johnsson.
Latter two you can still understand (tougher matchups, first playoffs with this responsibility/expectations for them) but as a third line C, Nylander has to do better.
For playoffs, I still take old washed up Marleau over floater Willie.

Marleau isnt the problem.

I think the problem is that Rask has the worst bruises ever now, on his chest.

so many shots right into the crest

You guys think JT travels with the Isles and roots for his buddies in round 2...?

Nah...Trotz made them realize they were better off without him...

No way he let’s the snake anywhere close...

I wouldn’t trade Nylander for that.

I dunno, Nylander watched a puck roll by him in the offensive zone last game or the game before and it was very clear the problem was the presence of a Bruins Dman there.

I hope that poop gets called out by the coaching staff.

Will you still want him traded when he scores the game winner late tonight?

He's one of them. He's sucked.

And he'll suck even more (both on the ice and on the salary cap sheet) if he plays next year.

It's not one or the other. It's both.

One barely makes a dent.

I’ll let you figure that out.

I think on that play he was worried about being caught in deep. Still learning how to play centre. Just a guess but I think he was trying not to find himself on the wrong side of the puck late in his shift.

Gonna disagree there totally. Dubas didn't hire the coach or staff there. Shanny and Dubas seem to be on the same page. Babs in his statements has already indicated he isn't on board and on the same page with Dubas and likely might take time if it happens. His own words there in prior interview over the whole rift reporting.

I think more likely is yes Dubas MIGHT remove Babs IF and only IF it seems that rift and not being on the same page is going to continue and affect things.

Other aspect I wonder about and would keep watch on is the usage and ice time of players. IF again there are star players in our core that are not happy (think Matthews last year making comments on his use and ice time) well like the line in the movie The Replacements... you went head to head with a million dollar player, who did you think was going to win?!

Honestly it is all a big question mark and am sure more for the offseason, and post playoff discussions. Just wait for it the talking heads and media will all be all over it soon enough.

For now though meh, Babs and his staff are there and none of them are going anywhere so lets just hope we show up for Game 7 and win the sucker!

There were already 32 worthy candidates.

Well, 31 + me.

What a (frank)ing joke.

Most free agent signings suck in the last year or sooner. One more year is a dream scenario compared to some other deals out there.
I’d hate to be here if we had Lucic, or Neal.

We need a coach that is younger than Marleau..
An "advanced stats" guy won't have any issues benching Marleau..

- PatC80

Except he has good advanced stats in the playoffs, so he moves to line 1

I’m going to guess he was waiting for a penalty call. No other excuse would due for me anyways.
