It will come down to specialty teams IMO.

more to the point - we need to stay out of the penalty box.

the bruins pp has been a terrible matchup for out pk all season and into the playoffs.

It sure mattered in a particular Game 7 in 2011.
- RickJames77

Not realy, the Leafs were leading 4-1 in that game. They didnt collapse due to home ice, they collapsed because their goalie was mediocore and due to the Gadinerfly effect

While I completely agree, those first two penalties last game werent exactly text book penatlies. Pretty weak. There was weak penalties on both sides, with the difference being the Leafs specialty teams sucked.

Sure, but the Leafs lost that game because their specialty coach is employing beer league strategies more then anything.

There is no excuse for not changing the PP up right now, and the PK could litterally just run out there with no strategy and be better.

- Archaic

agreed. just throw mathews/kapanen and tavares/marner out there as forwards.

it can't possibly be worse than what we have been doing. the change might just throw the brewns off.

That would be 2013. I was saying home ice sure mattered in the Game 7 of the SCF in 2011 (sarcasm).

I was taking a shot at Kraaptan, not you guys

his ass better be stapled to the bench in the last 5 minutes if we're up by one or tied.

When we lose tonight, let's make sure to put the blame where it is rightly deserved.

It won't be Gardiner's fault.

It won't be Zaitsev's fault.

It won't be Andersen's fault.

It won't be Willy's fault (as much as I would like to make him the scapegoat).

It will be Kadri's fault.

For the second year in a row, his selfish stupidity took him out of the line-up, forcing us to readjust - and weaken - our lines.

The third line right now is a complete waste of ice time. And it weakened Matthews' line by taking Melander off of it.

This series have been a great matching of talent. If Kadri had played all the games, the odds of us winning it would have been higher.

Selfish stupidity.

When PK Subban demands a trade to Toronto, I hope that Dubas plays tough and demands that Nashville retains a lot of salary.

Marner has been on the ice for 11 goals against in the series, that seems high (all sit)
7-11 (38% gf)

Nylander has been in the ice for 4 goals for and 1 against (80% gf)

you would think it was the other way around

Marner plays against their top line, and on the penatly kill. Id assume thats part of the reason?

Marner should be taken off the PK in my opinion.
not because he is not good (i think he can PK well), but bc it seems he doesn't retain enough energy for his offensive game.
Wonder whether those 2 blocked shots actually hurt him more than it seemed..?

My strategy if I was the coach.

1. Play the two Hall of Fame defensemen I have for a lot of ice time!
2. Play one of the greatest two-way centres of all time a lot.
3. Play those two Super Swedes a lot too!
4. Make sure Old Man Chelios is off the ice when that Crosby kid shows up!
5. Know the team is too good to be sunk by the goaler.

Stanley Cup!

It's (frank)ing incredible that he only managed to win one cup with that Red Wings team.

Canes are playing excellent. I wanted to pick them in my bracket, but didn't have the gumption to do it. I had conversations with some friends in my pool after the games started and picks were submitted and people thought I was crazy to even consider the Canes. I had the caps in 6, but will be rooting for the Canes. Good luck tomorrow night.

Question for you. How outraged were you at Dougie Hamilton for that "play" or lack thereof on Brett Connolly's goal? Holy (frank) I'd be irate.

it would be so poetic for leafs to go 4-1 down in 3rd, before tying the game in last 10minutes and then winning in OT.
however, i don't want half of you to die of nerves tonight :D

I wasn't. I laughed.

It was so dumb. He thought it was icing, I guess. He more than made up for it, though.

I lovee what Brind'amour's been doing though. You can feel how much he cares when you watch him postgame in the room.

(frank) poetic justice.

I just want them to play a full 60 minutes and skate out with the dub.

Is that to much to ask!?!?!

Because the coach doesn't play his best players on the PK like any other coach. Why isn't Tavares on the PK? Have you seen who plays on Boston's PK?

Bad excuse. The PK is horrific without them so why not play them?

- RogerRoeper

IDK

Fear of them getting hurt?

I'm with you on this one. At least Marner been killing some penalties.
