Apparently the ice has been horrible in Boston so far.
I thought I noticed it jumping a lot, probably why the games have been quiet. Worked for the Leafs so far. |

Doesnt appear that way, could definitely argue Blues were the favourite. At least that's what I had them as.
Hard to say if I would've pegged Isles as the favourite in their series. But probably not, good on them though for making it look easy.

Funny thing about the last Leaf game from my 75 year old aunt watching the game on sunday.
Start it by saying she knows nothing about hockey but her points on things reminded me of you guys lol.
First Bruins powerplay she is just watching away and when Boston scores and as the rest of us familly members are swearing at the TV my aunt calmy says " Well that was the blue and white teams fault, all they did was stand there and watch them two fellas out by that blue line and not go after them at all, them players must suck". So i told her its not really the players fault because there probably just following what there told to do. At that moment bosten scores again on the power play. She turns to me and says well i guess whos teaching those young boys better find a new job cuz there not any good at it.
So then after watching it a while more she says. I dont really like that player. Im like what player. she says that young man who just skates real fast around the outside thinking he is better then anyone else but he isnt really doing anything. When she said the word fast i thought she ment Kap but then she points out Willy lmao.
Then we watch some more and shes quiet for along time and the game ends. The whole familly is cursing and pissed that the Bruins won. After i calm down i say to my aunt. well that sucked. She turns to me and says ya but it shouldnt have because that grumpy guy that stands behind them lads yelling seemed to not know what he is doing exept to yell. I swear i (frank)ing died laughing, cuz either my 75 year old aunt reads HB or she might be a better coach.....

Certainly, this year feels different. Like many have said, adding Tavares, Muzzin and the young guns being a year older. Losing Kadri again is really crappy, but it is what it is. Obviously, either team can win, so the Leafs definitely have a good shot. Here's my fear though. Being a lifelong, true blue Leaf fan, I've had a lion's share of heartbreak. Seeing Pittsburgh, Tampa, Nashville, Winnipeg etc... get bounced early and Washington going to 7 games, it's all setting up beautifully for a long Leaf's run. That's why I'm fearful of another loss to Boston. It's like all the cards are set, and we just won't be able to take advantage of it. An opportunity to close it out in 6 was dropped. Just like when Bergeron was injured and we could not capitalize. I'm hopeful that the Toronto curse dies this year. Could you imagine an Islanders/Leafs conference final? There's nothing I'd love more than a Leaf win tonight. I love playoff hockey and want much more of it. One round per year just isn't enough. I'm hoping a big game from Tavares (3 points) will put us over the top. GO LEAFS GO! |

At least the takes after the game will be, "Bruins had a good run, but it's time to start rebuilding..." all we're going to hear is how the Leafs weren't tough enough (which had zero bearing on the series), Nylander needs to be traded, Marleau was a bad contract, Auston shouldn't have changed his stick, Marner's going to get offersheeted, Babcock lost the room, etc." |

FWIW, I don't think the Bruins will choose this point in time to rebuild if they were to lose. |

More points separated the Bruins and Leafs than separated all five Metro teams that made the playoffs.
Those were always going to be a toss up. |

They had 4 more wins and 3 more points than the Pens....
I know most people thought Pittsburgh would win, but the Isles WERE the higher seeded team, at least. |

The leafs have a chance to write a new beginning for themselves ans change the narrative. Or they do what most expect them to and have predicted, simply not good enough to beat one team and move on to the 2nd round.
Its in their hands now, good thing about game 7's, is that you find out who has what it takes to step up.
Go leafs. |

It's easy to say Leafs have many years to contend, but damn. Look at who went out in the 1st round. This is a great opportunity. |

I picked Dallas to win the series. Nashvillle has a horrible set of forwards. There's just not enough there to be a real contender. |

I am really fed up with the overreactions and just tune it all out after a loss.
The media are idiots and so anti-Leafs. |

Still sucks that even if we manage, CBJ is waiting, and they're probably the team to beat now. They didn't beat Tampa by accident and they have a real good shot at going the distance.

I'm already mad about Walshy and Cherry-Skewl going on about how we lost the series because we didn't have enough GRIIIIIIT.
