Why? Have you watched Johnson and miller this year? Change for the sake of change doesn’t make sense
- Ross77

If rumours are true that there is a divide between younger players and older players, than yes change is needed. I would do the Drunken Canuck trade where he suggested we trade Byfuglien for Nylander. That trade alone would open up many possibilities of future trades for us.

But, let's be real, nothing is going to happen this offseason because Cheveldayoff will not only take the the day off, but the whole offseason off.

They all ran excellent teams the whole season through. Maurice did not.

Also worth noting is how short of a leash Babcock has already. His replacement is in the system just waiting for his deal to end

Yeah.....Tampa only finished 30 points of the team that swept them .

The team that swept them had a GM that was unafraid of making the big move. Something I wish our GM was less afraid of making.

They were also without their top pairing.
That, and you never know when your team might go cold

Chevy has always been about the path of least resistance.
Only make a blockbuster when your hand is forced.
Keep trading for temporary 2Cs because you won’t trade Little.
Keep signing the same weak depth players because familiarity (Chiarot, Morrow, Thorburn).

These division rumours are somewhat suspect.

I mean, Scheifele and Wheeler apparently can’t get along or the kids don’t like Wheeler’s controlling or abrupt leadership. Yet, Scheifele and Wheels can’t play with anyone else and refuse to get split up?

This sounds like a great plot for a Wpg shot Hallmark movie. It’s like a love story, hate each other but can’t play with anyone else.

Sounds like a true marriage......I am tearing up......

Is the room divided ? ... wouldn't doubt it ... but we may never know ... PoMo did speak to 'ruffled feathers' in an interview and even Chevy laid a clue to the same

Why would anyone ever suggest trading Lowry and Connor ?!? ... Lowry delivers WAY THE F_CK HIGHER than his $2.9M ... Connor - I'm locking that kid up for 6 yrs ... he produces - one of our best players !!!

Most probably from my crystal ball - Troubs gets traded sometime around Draft Day ... 70% Myers walks .... say thanks and good luck to Hayes ... we keep Byf ... would like to sign Chariot and Beaulieu and somehow shed Kuli and his $4.3M ... bridge Laine 2 yrs ... sign Copp for around or a bit lower than Lowry and that's a steal ... Tanev I'd sign for sure if I could shed Perrault and his $4.1M

So - my main Jets trade bait right now (and I know there is some limitations with certain guys) Trouba, Perrault or Tanev, Kulikov, Roslo or Appleton

I’m suspicious of the Laine bad back story. If it’s true, why didn’t he miss some games ? He certainly was not helping the team by playing through it. Maybe a couple of weeks off would have been an idea ?

Chevy should have done this or done that....sure ....because all players want to come to Winnipeg.

Not as easy to make trades as some of you think it is.

If Vegas wins game 7 the four bottom playoff qualifiers in the west will have advanced to the second round. First time ever?

Well said.

Blockbusters are rarely the answer (see Weber, Duchene, Turris, Boston trading away Thorton) almost always there is a loser in the trade and the winner rarely wins it all. For teams that are close and with time on their side stay the course management and tweaks are preferred. Jets have time with core still not in their peak years.

Starting to hear grumbling about not having a #2C (what people really want is a #1B) and trading two 1st rounders, two 4ths, foley and Lemieux. Of all those assets traded away the only one that has any tangible value is Lemieux. Jets have more youth than they can use and the late 1st round picks are unlikely to become more valuable than what is already in the system. Tangible value received - clutch performances from Stasny and good depth from Hayes. Everyone would have loved for this to have resulted in a cup but it didn't - this doesn't make it a wrong move or poor use of assets.

Stone was an unreasonable gamble. It would have cost a high asset price and an enormous cap hit resulting in loss of another asset if he was willing to sign long term. Better than Hayes? - sure. Better result? - maybe not.
