I wondered if Preds were going to push back or just continue to let the Stars man handle them. |

Wonder what the long term plans are for Anisimov and Saad. They both have two years left at a reasonable 10.5M. Do the Hawks plan to keep them and resign them in 2 years or let them walk. Maybe this summer is the time to trade them.
Assuming Hawks resign Sikura and Perlini for a couple of years (I'm all for that to allow them time to develop), sign Kabulik, and with Entwhistle, the #3 pick and possibly Hagel and Highmore in the wings someone has to be moved out.
Hawks potential forwards the year after next with AA and Saad - Toews, Kane, Strome, Cat, Kahun, Kabulik, Kampf, Caggiula, Sikura, Perlini, Entwhistle, #3 pick, Hagel/Highmore, AA, Saad.
That's 15-16 forwards not counting anybody picked up this off season. Someone has to go. Trade AA and Saad now while they have value and a couple of years term left at a reasonable hit for a top 4 D and a bottom 6 forward. Hayden, Koekkoek and either Dahlstrom/Forsling could be throw ins too. |

It all depends on what’s coming back - and I would guess that Stan is certainly listening if not initiating - but Sikura / Perlini are still unknowns, the #3/Entwhistle/Hagel/Highmore are likely not ready next year.
Maybe best to move Saad and AA after next season.
And Nashville defense isn’t helping Rinne - lots of open Stars coming right at him - but he’s not helping them, either.

Agree, #3, Entwhistle, et al not ready til 20-21. Just wondering if AA and Saad are worth more this summer since they'll have 2 years left in contract instead of one.
I know points aren't everything, but last season AA 15 and 22=37, Saad 23 and 24=47. Kahun in 1st season 13 and 24=37. If Kabulik comes over and puts up around 40 points similar to Kahuns 1st year, it would be close to AA and Saad numbers last year. Bottom 6 forward acquired in Saad/AA could put up similar numbers.
Lots of ifs and coulds but worth thinking about.

Saad back home to Pittsburgh for Olii Maatta?
24 year D signed for 4.1M for next 3 years.
EDIT - Fellow Finn. Give Joki someone to hang with. |

Plus I don't think he even dressed the last few playoff games maybe because he was hurt. I think he is pretty slow too.
No way I give up Saad for him. |

Played on average 62 games per year for last 4 years. When he's on IR, can audition Gilbert, Carlsson, etc. |

Absolutely 100% in agreement. The return for Saad should be a good one and Anisimov is a steady big center that will contribute to a top team......like Pittsburgh. Lol.

That stench coming from the south must be from Tennessee.
One more win Stars !!
Then we can laugh at just who the Preds will trade for next.

If Stars close it out, 3 of 4 wildcards advance with Carolina still in the running.

Would be great if they could move AA for a pick or two because his value won't increase at this point. His value to the Hawks has declined with Strome essentially replacing him on the PP and keeping him out of the top 6. |

Makes you wonder about who is really a "contender" or not. Re-enforces the concept about "make the dance and anything can happen".

Not this year. This year's finalists are Dallas' Ben Bishop, NY Islanders' Robin Lehner and Tampa Bay's Andrei Vasilevskiy. |
