Elbows pointed that out, too. I do recall his asking price being north of $6M and for some reason I want to say he even asked for $8M. Agree, way too much. Throw him a reasonable offer but have a firm line of how high to go then walk away if he asks for more. He's not the biggest fish in the sea so no loss.

I hate seeing a team weak defensively like Toronto beat a team that will check you and cross check you. I respect a team that plays hard even if a bit dirty but i detest the all offensive Leafs

I would guess full team defense would be a priority starting now.

More to it than just Calgary's defence group. Their forward lines could not handle the Av's forward lines. And Peeters tried by juggling lines and moving guys in and out of his lineup. Mike Smith kept the Flames close or it would have been an easy sweep.

And now they are stuck with an ugly James Neal contract.
