As for Brink, he's a natural RW. And he's an American. Rangers love drafting them and Russians. Personally, I'd hope they go Suzuki or Tomasino. Just to have an insurance policy at center. - tomburton99
Wouldn’t mind grabbing another Center. With Krav and Kakko, the wings are setting up nicely.
I wonder if Florida would trade 13 for Georgy and the Jets pick. At 13 you can get one of these US kids for sure most likely. I’m watching this game now, and they look like the Harlem Globetrotters at times |

I think if they can't land JD, and I am cool with him coming I just dont want to give any compensation to Columbus for him, because I think that's insane, I believe they'll probably just continue to have Drury rise through the ranks - jimbro83
I haven’t put any research into this idea, but if we can’t get JD, what about Mark Hunter? He seemed to be in line for that role in Toronto before getting let go in favour of a teenaged Dubas. I never heard where he went from there.
No pedigree, but I haven’t heard ANY other names floating around. |

Zucc is great but I am ready to move on. Get younger give some new guys a chance - TPC
You guys are probably right about Zuccs. Best to move on, just tough to watch him do so well for another team in the playoffs. I can’t remember the last time we had such an intriguing offseason. I just want them to be smart and continue to be patient but also know when to pull the trigger on a player worth big #. That player in my mind is Panarin. Watching him a lot lately the guy seems to have his stick on the puck every shift and is so dynamic.
Question outside the box. Let’s say Hank wants to restructure his contract to help the team. He says he is retiring and he is willing to forfeit the rest of his contract. Could the Rangers then bring him back on a 2 year contract for half the money?? Is there something that says he needs to sit out a year. Like in football you can restructure the QB’s contract. Hank obviously isn’t going to do that but I am curious of that’s even possible. |

nah, not possible, no contract restructuring in NHL
in a perfect world, he'd retire and we'd go into the season with the two Russians, they both need to play 40 games each like Beezer-Richter did back in the day
but Hank isn't walking away from the 12.5 million in cash he is owed his last two seasons, it's most likely his last payday |

Knowing the Rangers they will keep him in the organization and give him a job in the front office. I love Hank but wish this was his last season. |

it's his last Rangers contract
if we wants to play beyond age 39, it is going to have to be for someone else (like when Brodeur played for Blues)
I really wish he could look at the Rangers situation and realize he's in the way |

At this rate he might. He's still got another game to go in the preliminary round then the medal rounds. |

Caufield only needs 5 goals to tie Ovechkin's all time record of 14 goals. |

If he were 6’+ I don’t think that would be a crazy argument. If he’s there at 10, do you try and trade up to get him? |

If Dallas somehow wins two rounds do you think they sign Zucc next year ? Two 1st a little steep for him |

I think it becomes more likely actually. I think had they gone one and done, they would have walked away. If they get close and fail, maybe both sides want to go in together to try to get it done |

Not a doubt you do. I just think the cost would be prohibitive. Do you have up Win 1st, Dal 1st and Tampa 2nd? Would the other team do it |

That is why I think it's almsot a certainty they don't re-sign him. Because if the get to the WCF this year, they aren't gonna give up another 1st in better draft class. |

If Toronto wins, that’s another spot the Rangers are guaranteed to move up with the Jets pick, although if Columbus beats Boston we get the higher pick anyway |
