Do you object to knocking someone into the goalie too?

I get your point, but it was a good call.

That's goaltender interference. Totally different penalty

Same concept. Defender knocked into something/someone. Forwards actions caused it.

I would have to see the statute on the goaltender interference penalty

The pushed player has to make a reasonable effort to minimize/avoid contact. Vague enough?

I made a reasonable effort to put my phone down and go to bed by midnight.

Yet here we are

I'm warming to your argument here. The first part of the rule is pretty cut and dry. The net wasn't displaced by the defender, either accidentally or deliberately. The second part is vague enough that the call didn't bother me.

Goalie interference, rule 69, is the biggest cluster(frank) of a rule.

I think any objective observer would say STL deserved the goal based on merit/rational observation. I think based on the letter of the law, it's a lot murkier than that. If I were a jets fan, I'd probably be pissed

Yeah, show 100 reviewed plays to referees who haven't seen them, and I bet the results are all over the place

He stepped down in Tampa because his family is still stationed in Michigan and he wanted to move closer to home. With his history with Detroit it just made too much sense.

There might be an exodus from Tampa to Detroit going with him.

Big loss for Tampa gets even worse if he takes his scouts with him.

Yeah, and their lead scout had an out if Yzerman left.

McKenzie also said that didn't mean there would be a mass exodus out of Tampa, though.
