I don't think it was their "size" that won the series.

they aren't an overly big team.

devils advocate.

CBJ leading scorer this year was Cam Atkinson. 41 goals in 80 games. 5 foot 8.

not disagreeing that size and speed and grit has been tremendously important in these playoffs, as we are seeing.

I am not denying that small players that are skilled should not be overlooked but they are. Do I think Caufield drops to the 2nd round like Debrincat, no but I do think if he is seen as a top 10 by some may see him in more the 16-20 range.

I think Boldy is our best pick at 10 so far. Madden looks like a good future winger for Bo, Pete is like McDavid in a way. Great passing and shooting, and opts to make the play with the highest chance of a goal. He doesn't need a pure play maker to compliment him and Boeser.

Caufield scores another gimme (props to him for always being in great scoring position). Assist to Boldy

Boldy passes to Caufield and USA ties it up at 1 with Sweden.

i imagine he drops simply due to size, and I think that's a given. However, if he is deemed as a top 10 talent, and the Canucks scouting staff have full confidence in his abilities to score at the same or similar pace that he is right now (which is absolutely absurd), than I won't be upset in the least with picking him.

Lots of relevant scouting in this USA game. The midget scored... Boldy on the wing. Broberg playing. Others ranked in our range playing.

Maybe not a pure playmaker, but a skilled & creative player with a compatibly high hockey IQ who can fathom what EP’s doing out there. Boldy is perfect. Zegras too.

Rees just scored a SHG for Canada. #Speeeeeed

Change for the sake of change is dangerous. You just elected a Mussolini type. If you think threats of turning off the pipes will improve things you are sadly mistaken.

I imagine there are ton of USA kids drafted in the first round of this upcoming draft. Lots of talent coming out of the USHL right now.

Rees with the wheels scores for Canada.

I have no problem with size for a player that projects as well as Caufield does. As seen by smaller players who have the stats to back up their play are not a bust too often but they do need to have unreal stats. 58 goals is that.

yeah i agree. My main point was, no matter who the Canucks draft at 10, its out of our hands and all we can really do is have faith that the scouting department did their due diligence. If we end up taking Caufield, I will be equally as happy as if we take Boldy/Zegras

I noticed in the central rankings a lot of USHL names I had not seen before. Similar to Madden moving up.

One thing to consider when watching NTDP in awe is these guys have the luxury of playing together on an all star team all year - huge chemistry bump for their aesthetic polish & production. I wish we could see what some of the CDN kids would look like in a similar program.

PS - Boldy’s hand eye coordination is ridiculous.

i won't disagree. Hughes/Zegras/Caufield as a line is just crazy for padding the stats and getting chemistry in the UNDSP.

Having said that, the USHL has been pumping out and developing high end talent for the last how many years? Can't take away from that league, they are producing some quality prospects.

Taking absolutely nothing away from NTDP. Very jealous of their development paradigm. Just saying it’s something to consider when ranking prospects.

Apparently he's PITT's best D? I guess VAN just wasn't utilizing his skill set correctly. There's also suggestion's that's happening in Utica as well...
