I think its time to stop this hockey socialism... do away with the draft all together and go back to having geographic protection areas.

San Jose can protect any players that develop in Northern California
Vegas can protect any players from Nevada
Bruin can protect as many Mbumholes as they like
Leafs get to protect all the players from Kingston and North Bay West, to the Manitoba border
Tampa gets everyone who's develops in their half of Florida

and so on...
