Multiple players have been interviewed since that SCF, they all said that they were told to turn the other cheek in between whistles and try to draw penalties.
Gonna be interesting to see how that plays with Giroux, who’s probably not as cool with that mentality as Henrik Sedin was. - Nucker101
Can’t wait for us to get pushed around on the ice if we make the playoffs |

You are confusing playing soft (no checking, no desire) with not playing with an eye for an eye mentality.
I have no issue with guys skating away from a penalty instead of taking a coincidental minor. I do have issues with guys not forechecking, playing the body, and not playing 60 minutes. That is what is meant by "soft" hockey. |

Big V Gonna wave a wand and have these guys play some high paced up and down 200 ft hockey. Can’t wait to see it - Just5
Because Rick Nash and the Sedins were speed demons? Giroux and Voracek will benefit greatly from AVs style of play. |

Pittsburgh is on an obvious decline. Columbus who knows with the UFA situation. NY islanders are smoke and mirrors imo, just great coaching. Devils and rangers are a few years away from being competitive. Caps are going to have cap issues, pun intended. Carolina is a crap team that got lucky.
The flyers have the talent and a few offseason moves from being a top 3 in the metro with legit SC potential. And maybe in a few years it will go from SC potential to SC favorites. |

Welcome to Philly I do like the sound of some structure and (new) ideas in breakouts, positioning and the transition game - This team is way too talented and has been for a few years to not have a playoff round win this long - Although some fans seem nervous just check the amount of playoff games and wins, getting teams to overachieve - Don't think both Vancouver or his Rangers squad had any more talent to work with than he's got here in Philly. - GPerogie
Agreed. One thing he did have was solid goaltending with lu and hank. I think he's going to have that here as well moving forward.

He has Hart, and most of our defense have the ability to make good first passes which are key to AVs breakout system. Sanheim, Ghost, Myers, and Provorov have the ability to put the puck where they want when the forwards are making the right plays and moving to the correct position on the ice to give the defense the time to look for the plays. |

The Kings were simply the better team. That roster was stacked. And Canucks - Bruins went to game 7 man. But hey hate all you want. |

Guy had two hall of fame goalies and couldn’t get the job done. - Just5
I'd be more worried about Fletcher. I have very little confidence in him. At least Vigneault has had eight 100 point seasons. Two Cups finals appearances. And a Jack Adams award. He's gotten good results.
What has Fletcher shown in his nearly decade body of work in Minnesota that he can build a winner? |
