To be fair though, the people who built it were little better than indentured servants. The people at the top who had the coin to build it weren't doing it for altruistic reasons, either. It really isn't the symbol you think it is. - TrashPanda
Neither are the pyramids. Imagine how much blood was given for that build with slaves right?!
Still historically significant and over time the place's meaning can and does change too. |

Actually, slaves didn't build the pyramids - they were paid well for their labour. So well that people came from all over North Africa looking for work. |

Parros gotta put his whiny ass voice on the video tape. We won't hear anything until like 5pm I bet. - markmark
It's total BS - what if there is no suspension, and Kadri is supposed to dress tonight?
Just kidding - we all know he is done for the series. |

Political correctness is killing comedy. When Seinfeld is running into problems for jokes it's just about over. The 'comedians of the world' on Netflix where everyone is scared to be political incorrect is the worst garbage I've seen. - aminnes
I listen to most JRE’s and I hear what all his comedian buddies are saying. They’re wrong, plain and simple.. they’re the equivelant to the oilfield workers in Alberta who think they’re under attack. They say some pretty stupid poop on stage and incite others who are not professionals to use that language in public settings that make people uncomfortable. Like i said, comedy is easy, and the best comics are the ones who don’t have to say stupid poop to be edgy. Hiding under than banner of free speech is exactly what the clan did 100 years ago, and they’re doing it again. |

historically and culturally significant, monumental, containing and exhibiting great art, sure, in that sense it's a real shame that some people won't be able to appreciate some/any of it in person
that's about it for me though |

How did that thing survive world war II? Serious question and something I should probably know.
Was it because France fell relatively quickly and wasn't bombed like London was? - RickJames77
They surrendered, rather than see Paris bombed.

No.

Some churches, regardless of ideology, carry such a historic significance that make them the symbol they are. It's not just about religion, it's about history and that was a symbol of architectural achievement and the furthering of society/civilization. It really is sad to see something like that disappear in a day after standing for something like 800 years. Lost in this is the fact that it took 200 years to build (I believe). How many generations was that back in the 13th century? Like 6? 6 generations of people collectively working toward a single goal and achieving it. That is crazy. - RickJames77
Although it could easily be argued that the Catholic Church hindered the furthering of society/civilization. |

See my post above. Also, big stretch going from a building fire to rape... Anyway sorry if I offended you, it was not meant to. Also, it depends on your brand of humor. There are a lot of things said on here that are not funny, but posted.....just a message board. - Archaic
People need to stop being winy little female doges. You didn't make a rape joke or joke about someone dying ffs. Hell, I've seen jokes about people that have died on here receive less criticism than this!
I didn't even think it was that funny, but chill the (frank) out people. |

The only thing though is Seinfeld is enormous in comedy. He isn't some fringe guy that is making excuses. Rock has said the same thing. Chapelle. Burr. Mel Brooks. Dennis Miller. Cleese. I mean, these are big name dudes that already made millions and some weren't all that controversial. All Schummer does is talk about bodily functions to make sure no one is offended, and it's not funny. |

It's very subjective and very tricky.
For instance I love Jimmy Carr. He says some of the most awful things. But it's hilarious. But it's awful. And I know I'm a bad person for laughing. But it's hilarious. And awful. - Monkeypunk
Jimmy Carr is pretty hilarious. If your going to make jokes about the stuff he does, you gotta present it in certain ways. It honestly is all in the presentation, and kinda an art all on it's own. |

Luckily the pyramids are made out of mostly stone. Shouldn't burn down too easily. |
