The missed calls don't matter at all. The went for the head with intent to send a message. Hrs done this before.
I feel it will be more than 5.
But we'll see - Fakepartofme
Regardless, Kadri is a big part of the toughness of this team, which puts the leafs at a disadvantage the rest of the series.
I would just remove him from the rest of the series.
this should quiet things down a little.
I only hope that the Bruins don't target a guy like Muzzin, who is the only other physical presence on this team.
I did like seeing Muzzin explode into Krug. |

I had 5...but in person, probably more.
But honestly, who knows with the nhl - Fakepartofme
It really would be good to hear why other players with long rap-sheets get the benefit of the doubt.
3 games in the playoffs was very harsh. Getting 5 or more is massive! I would say it is potentially more severe than Tom Wilson getting 20 for his 3145344th headshot.

Why the frank would Kypreos be biased against the Leafs? - Atomic Wedgie
Because they get on a national broadcast and to prove they’re not homers they go overboard with the negativity. There’s no way Nylander should have been called out like that. It was over the top. |

In all seriousness, I think it's very difficult to say the stats pointing to us out PIMing you in a series, whether last year's series or the two games so far, is statistically significant with that small of a sample size.
The last game was poorly reffed.
My tinfoil joke was more directed at Max's bad ice comment than anything. - RickJames77
This "let them play" thing is really getting old.
It is ridiculous that the NHL even operates this way.

Well they know that leaping into hits to catch him up high is on the menu already. I get so frustrated by the "playoff hockey" because what "adjustment" do you make to deal with that? How do you "adjust" to Chara cutting guys in half every shift with Pronger-like impunity? How do you "adjust" to getting your face carved up by a stick or guys throwing knees? |

Dude,
You know we all love you, but it is pretty (frank)ing easy to laugh off the whole refereeing bit, even when the stats paint a ridiculous picture... when your team is on the winning end of that ridiculous picture. - Aetherial
My only gripe with it is that throughout the regular season the Leafs get so few PPs and give up so few penalties.
We head to the playoffs and, in the last 6 games played in Boston there have been 38 penalties handed out. Over 6 per game. That's about 13-14 regular season games worth.
And the refs are supposed to put their whistles away, not bring them out.
It's always a poop show in Boston, regardless of who is to blame |

Not really no... Kypper is just an ass and usually his takes are garbage across the board.
Hrudy was spot on with Nylander as was other people's assessment. He is floating, soft, and a turnover machine while doing next to nothing out there that is of any benefit to the team. His ass should be sitting in the press box. Hrudy was spot damn on. |

We won the first game because the Bruins were terrible. But when the Bruins win he calls it a beat down. Even though it was anybody’s game for the most part. |

I will say 10 games. League will crack down yet again on Kadri. Continues to be stupid and target the head, they won't like that. The fact he used the stick too isn't really good for optics, DeBrusk actually hurt or not. Bottom line Kadri was stupid and now will pay the price.
As far as the game tonight goes I think the Leafs shuffle the deck some, the match ups will be harder to avoid for Boston, and I think the Leafs come out playing their game, not trying to match phsyicality and go hit for hit with Boston. Add in Boston's injuries on the back end I think Toronto pulls out the win here on this one.
Reffing will suck again, because lets face it, it has been crap all year and continues to be so now. Both teams have to play through it. |

It's not a "favour the Bruins over the Leafs" thingy.
It's a "let's put away the whistles because this is playoff hockey" thingy.
It's a statistical fact that the Bruins take more penalties than the Leafs - in the regular season.
If all things remained equal, that trend would continue in the playoffs.
But the referees are instructed to put away their whistles, and as a result, the team that usually takes more penalties gets away with more.
And there's the whole "let's keep things equal" notion, too.
Case in point: with 7 minutes left in a close game yesterday, a Penguin crosschecked and Islander, than dove on top of him and started wrestling.
So the referee called coincidental minors. Why?
Because it was a close game with 7 minutes left.
Hockey is the only sport on earth where a penalty depends upon:
- score of game
- time left in game
- salary of player committing the infraction
- number of penalties called on each team in the game already.
It's a franking joke - and I'm not just saying this as Leafs fan. |

Willy will be good. That one play was glaring but Andersen sticking that big goalie stick out like he was going to play it sure didn’t help. |
