It might help the PP because it will force change - AdamFrench
The Leafs powerplay isn't working?
I thought it was crazy good all year.
I remember them scoring at like 40% in November. |

adding Martin and Komarov has worked!
 - senstroll
Looks like shooters aren't getting to the great areas in a lot of time. Rushing their shots due to Martin, Komarov, Cluster(frank), Boychuk et al being on the ice (or shortly coming on) |

Anyone else tired of the anti leafs bias on the sportsnet coverage? Kypreos saying DeBrusk didn’t stick his knee out and then saying Kadri tried to sell it.
And Nylander made a bad turnover for a goal but there’s absolutely no way that Kelly Hrudey calls out a Bruin like that.
And after hearing it Kypreos almost jumped for joy. |

i just realized the Canes are not using Mcbackup but murazek instead.. I was led to believe the Leafs gave up the greatest goalie in the league for nothing
why he no playoff? |

My point was that you had a whole game of nastiness and one rat in particular running around delivering cheapshots.
THAT is the situation where you want someone on your team to address it, and that someone should not have to be Kadri.
Of course just "having" Ryan Reaves does nothing to address a particular incident. The point is that, when the refs are letting everything go, you need someone who can dish it out on your side.
Otherwise, you are just taking it in the ass, losing your cool, and getting a key guy suspended. - Aetherial
Two points, if I may: One: In a world where you could somehow swing it, your only real option is the idea of substituting Brown for Reaves. From a toughness perspective, that's great. And I like Reaves. Brown, for all we like to hate on him, is a much better player than Reaves. You're basically getting a guy who doesn't play your team's style for a few specific instances at a few specific times that he might be required? It's why Martin is gone.
Two: I honestly argue that Kadri isn't that much of a key piece this year. His role has been diminished. He has played like it. I've liked Nylander in the C-spot, too. We'll see what happens. But I'll admit that Kadri was playing well against Boston, and Nylander hasn't been, so that's obviously a huge concern. |

Questions for you all
Assuming Kadri doesn't play, are you at all concerned about your bottom 6? Specifically Nylander centering the 3rd line?
How much will this hurt the top PP and who slots up? I assume the leafs heavily use PP1 so slotting someone from PP2 onto PP1 won't have too much of an effect on the a 2nd unit that isn't used as much. - RickJames77
Hyman will take Kadri's place on that PP and the PP will be better.
Kadri and Tavares are just a bit too much of the same on that PP.
Tavares will take Kadri's spot, and Hyman will get in front of Rask.
And yes, worried about that third line - since Nylander is doing poopoo in his pants anytime a Bruins player is getting closer than 10feet to him. |

the PP is too predictable.
I'd like to see nylander on the 1st unit.
put marner on the 2nd. let him run around the ice and do whatever he wants.
it's too limiting on marner to have him play in a small area; plus his shot from that spot doesn't scare anybody. |

Have you been watching that series?
Aside from the Islanders playing great fast pressure hockey, Lehner has been unbelievable.

I'm gonna leave you all wondering if I already knew the Leafs powerplay has plummeted and just wanted to make you say it.
Or if I'm just really outdated with my informations.

Kadri still has some significant value I think. Otherwise, I agree. I also think Reaves can play some.
These days, you can't have a goon who does nothing but go out and fight. Thankfully, the game has gone beyond that.
But, when fighting is gone, the instigator rule is in place, and the refs are letting everything go, then you still need something on your team.
The Leafs idea that their powerplay would be their enforcer is beyond hilarious at this point. |
