Honestly this league is so stupid. Imagine how good this matchup would have been if it was the second of conference finals. NHL is so dumb. |

I'm not debating the referees in here. I came in here and disagreed with a non call and was called a loser, homer, idiot etc. So I'm not interested in opening myself up to those discussions anymore. - RickJames77
the person(s) that called you a loser/idiot are that themselves for calling you that.
we're all homers and surely would have cried for a 15 game suspension of that was Marchand instead of Kadri with the cross check.
that being said, i was just curious to understand whether you felt it was 'good ol' playoff hockey' or that bruins sometimes crossed the line a bit. |

Players' injuries shouldn't factor into suspension - TheMussel
It shouldn't, but it's no different in a lot of cases though.
Extreme example of incident/punishment, but you get the point...
Caught drunk driving
< Caught drunk driving and running a red light
<<< Caught drunk driving and damaging
<<<<< Caught drunk driving and killing someone
The end result determines the level of crime and punishment. In the NHL's case, the team should have to declare the player's status. If the player is declared "fit to play" then that should be taken into account. If the player is declared "injured," then they must sit out for the game. If the injury is deemed "significant," then the player would have to sit for three games etc. Beyond that it's too hard to determine in a lot of cases.
I get gamesmanship, but it's manipulative and shouldn't be permitted.

All of a sudden people seem to realize that Hyman is one of Toronto's best players.
Some on here keep (or kept) calling him stone hands, but apart from being a mediocre finisher, he is everything you'd want from in a winger to support topline centers like Tavares/Matthews.
Hyman for Captain. - MaximusAurelius
He really is stone hands though. |

Karlsson is -3 in the playoffs, so is the 7 goals including PP goals?
cuz well thats dumb
and yes, its about 5v5, if plus minus stat removed empty net goals it would be a huge improvement
Also so far in the playoffs Pavelski -5, Stamkos -5, Crosby -4, Bergeron -3 - senstroll
yeah, the 7 or 8 goals is misleading since he is probably also among the ice time leaders on the team... sooner or a later a team is going to score.
As with any stat, the bigger the sample the better. With Karlsson, at this point, I think we can make a reasonable conclusion that he derives his big offensive numbers at the expense of his defensive numbers. He really is not a good "defensive" defenseman.
Lots of bad numbers in this playoffs so far. Tampa and Pittsburgh, good lord. Look at the talent level there that isn't doing squat. |

Debrusk hugely sold that hit by staying on the ice for a while - honestly don't think that cross-check was that hard. - MaximusAurelius
This should be put into perspective.
It doesn't matter if the cross-check was that hard. It doesn't matter if DeBrusk may have sold it a little or not.
Frankly, you charge at a guy and cross-check him in the head with the intent to injure, and you get the suspension you deserve.
Kadri didn't like the way DeBrusk was playing? Didn't like the knee, didn't like the hit on Marleau? Drop the gloves. Maybe you lose the fight, but don't cross check a guy in the head.
It's cowardly and cheap.
