Debrusk clearly leaned in with his shoulder to make contact for a hit. It's not his fault Kadri tried to bail at the last second and leave himself in a compromising position. If he took the hit head on it would have been a good hit but Kadri likes trying to dramatically avoid hits and the consequence of that is leaving your leg exposed. - AngryWhiteMale
Someone said this stupid opinion last night. Then the picture of the freeze frame came out and this stupid opinion was dropped. Because the picture clearly shows that Kadri is getting (frank)ing kneed when both his feet are still on the ice, not trying to bail on the hit.
But you're gonna keep it going even after visual evidence. Ok then. |

Marlies are beyond lucky that this game is still 0-0 because they are getting killed. |

Again, great help.
edit: Clearly, wasn't the point of my initial question, but you might actually have to choose this offseason. |

Why are Sabres fans infatuated with the Leafs?
Don't they have their own NHL team to......oh. |

Go take it up with Ripped Idiot and the rest of the nonsensical offer sheet clowns. We've heard it all before. Thanks for coming out but old stale trolling at this point. Enjoy your tee time! |

Errr it was a simple question, I would not want to offer sheet Marner. People in Buffalo seem to think Marner is better than Mathews, and I strongly disagree. I would have thought fans that watch every game would be able to shred some light.
Clearly I was mistaken. |

Dude if being serious, worst ever timing to waltz in and do that. Yer boy Ripped idiot and a wack of other trolls were all in here pullin the usual, real bad timing to start the Matthews vs Marner stuff. |

We'll choose to sign all of the above, while the 18th NHL coach decides to not coach the Sabres and Kim Pegula signs Elmer J Fudd to a 10 year $45 million contract (bought out next year by Terry)

Yeah, idk the last time I was in here. I dont read the Leafs thread.
Not to mention most in Bufffalo's thread feel like Ripped Fuel is trolling there.
edit: he must be a poster without a home. And yes I was being serious. |

I'll bite. Depends on what you're looking for. Marner is one of the best playmakers in the league. Matthews is a possession machine with a wicked release but hasn't reached his full potential. If Matthews plays a full 82 game season, he'll out-produce Marner, while playing a more difficult position.
Marner will probably be more consistent though, although playing with Tavares as a centre doesn't hurt. |

from a buffalo poster
We usually agree on most things but this is not one of them. Unless Matthews shows up on the score sheet he is invisible and you don’t even realize the guy plays. Marner is the heart beat of that team. Watch more then 10 leaf games a year and you’ll realize that as well. - Pegullaville
so I was wondering your fans actual opinion on the matter. As I stated, I strongly disagree that Marner is better than Mathews. |

Yeah wasn't just him but.... as I said bad bad timing then.
In all seriousness to be nice and answer, honestly Matthews is a top end center, size and skill, but needs wingers and while stellar I don't think he makes those about him better, but he can be a game breaker all on his own.
Marner is a bit different. Winger who does make everyone about him better, I think higher skill level and really is the guy who drives the team.
Someone compared them to Kane/Toews not that long ago and I would say they were not far off there. IF you had to pick one? For me anyways it would be Marner. |

If I read into your statement, I would walk away that Matthews is better than.
However, I could be bias, because I already believe that notion.
A possession machine that would outproduce the other player, comes across as the better player to me. |

Interesting. I was one who always thought Toews was overrated though, and sort of laughed when people said he was on equal playing grounds as Kane.
Personally I would take Kane, Marner, and Matthews all over Toews in their respected primes. |

Think really it depends on the team they are on and their make up. Different players. For me I would take Marner as he elevates those around him more. That said Matthews can take over and dominate a game on his own. Needs more consistency but is still solid too and take nothing away from the guy. If you have those centers already, I would go Marner. If you lack the depth up the middle.... I would lean the other way. |
