17-71-81
12-27-72
46-7-10 - kfinl170

Cullen has been the most noticeable forward and you want to take him out to let a vanilla LW play center in a playoff game. |

I really don't understand why anyone thinks toggling the lines is going to do anything.
The Isles know how to stifle the Pens' system. The Pens' need to change their system; this is where proper coaching comes in. You need to adapt in-game and Sully isn't doing that. Toggle all you want, but if you keep trying the same plan it's irrelevant. |

Not saying the Blueger is a game changer, but if he sits for ZAR next game, Sullivan should be fired. Rease's shot makes Dumo look like Brent Burns. - madmike71
Blueger is at least the same 5v5 as ZAR and worlds better as a pker. No reason for that scrub being in the line up especially after missing the end of the regular season.
Don’t see the need from the coaching staff to plug him in. It’s like they want one echl player per line |

Not a system issue. If you have Letang Crosby and Malkin you should beat a system of mediocre players.
Good for the islanders if they pull this off, but I think skill should overcome any system |

Because Guentzel playing awful hockey has nothing to do with our system. He’s just playing flat out bad. Sooo if we can get someone up there to be effective then maybe we luck our way back into this series. Maybe Rust comes back up and becomes Talbot 2.0 or maybe McCann isn’t as hurt as I think he is or maybe Kessel comes up and says F you to all of his doubters.
Playing poorly and playing in a poor system are two different things. They can happen at the same time, sure but that’s not always the case |

You don’t take a 40q guy off the top line. He had chances....just needs to finish

Wrong.
This is very simple what's going on right now.
1)The Isles clog neutral ice and hang back forcing the Pens to dump and chase.
2)The Pens pinch too much and have too many players going deep to retrieve pucks.
3) The Islanders have all the room in the world for odd-man rushes.
4) Rinse and repeat
STOP IT! They need to almost do the same exact thing and throw it back in their face. |

RW is tweeting about golf btw lol. Yuuuup. No need to watch the game and provide actual insight beyond your stat sheet. At least turnovers are on a stat sheet somewhere. That tells a big part of this series |

G, Dumoulin, and the second pairing are all big problems that have nothing to do with the system. I think you’re right there. I think a lot of the issues we’re having, though, can be addressed through in game strategy, which we’re not seeing, but I don’t think that requires whole scale change of the system. In fact, I think a lot of our problems right now is coming from an attempted whole scale system change between Games 1 and 2 that backfired greatly. Couple the bad coaching with these individual players not playing well and it’s a disaster.

Kessel is a 40 goal guy and we’ve moved him onto the third line a ton. Why is Guentzel not held accountable in your eyes? |

To be fair they do that to Kessel mostly to spread out the scoring. He’s rarely if ever actively demoted. |

No urgency from Letang right now. Less foot movement than me in beer league |

I’ve said it numerous times that I would simply bump Jake down to play with Geno. That’s hardly a demotion |

Kessel scored with less on his line. Guentzel never showed that he can do that. Not a time to try that down 2-1 in game three when down in series |

That was the first committed dump I've seen from the Pens where a Pens forward hit the blueline with speed.
Sid with the lateral pass....easily broken up. |

You know, I was about to say that effort by Jake on that lost draw wasn’t good enough but after seeing it again Martin is clearly interfering with him. What a surprise |
