Reminds me of the uber talented 90's Pens teams lose to the Devils and Panthers that always killed us after a turnover or in transition

That is what I was thinking. They have gone from being able to read each other to looking like complete strangers.

The sense of urgency is just not in the building.

You can’t just eliminate pinching though. We need active defensemen for this Penguin’s team to be successful. That’s where the communication and chemistry piece comes in, which is what I think is missing.

I’m not saying don’t pinch. Everyone who’s ever played peewee or higher knows you don’t pinch as a D unless you know 110% that you’re going to get there. You just don’t do it on 50-50 pucks yet we keep doing it

It's because they're confused. They spent the whole season playing one particular brand of hockey the Isle isn't going to let them do that. This team isn't prepared for straight line hockey. They only know lateral hockey.

The Pens have struggled against teams who play this system all year and still haven't learned to adapt. This IMO is where we enter Dan Bylsma territory. Sullivan keeps playing their same system against a team that knows how to beat it.

Yes....definitely Bylsma territory, but the players are also their worst enemy. Poor decisions on almost every shift. Sully didn't make that dumb ass pinch from Schultz. That was just a player being dumb.
