Mmmm hot cakes. I honestly never understand what you mean by that. - Rinosaur
Like it’s a hot take. I’m no JJ fan. The first penalty was bad. That last one though is incidental contact imo. Pelech isn’t skating backwards and JJ doesn’t take him out from behind. JJ is entitled to that ice so is Pelech. Nobody is going out of their way therefore it’s incedental |

I’ve got the sports net feed and they’re right on the money. Letang never pivots to Leddy and Guentzel completely loses him off the draw. Just poor accountability |

JJ skates full speed at him and crushed him and the puck was no where in sight, but okay lol |

Hornqvist has been doing this for a long time, agree or disagree with me: when Kessel has the puck and he’s walking in Horny doesn’t need to be RIGHT in front of Lehner. If you tip the puck 2 inches from his pad it’s still going to go into his pad. Our decision making is just all around bad |

I honestly don't know how we're in the minority here. We must have a different feed or something. That looked like blatant head hunting to me. |

He’s not skating at him, he’s skating back to the bench... this isn’t a David Steckel. He doesn’t go out of his way one bit |

If you see the front on replay it looks like JJ is totally surprised by the contact. He was watching a pass I think |

When the contact happens jj even has his head not looking at him..takes the brunt in the face and is cut for it...he was never ever trying to hit the guy. |

JJ had plenty of time to avoid that hit. |

I just caught that when I got home and the sportsnet crew were saying they didn't think JJ tried that. I didn't get enough looks for my own opinion, really. |

I don't think it was blatant head hunting and JJ did get interfered with, but he made no attempt to avoid the hit. Didn't even try to pull up and skated right through him. |

Well this last part would explain an otherwise super neanderthal-like play. It wasn't like Pelech just jumped in his way out of nowhere. There was a ton of time for Johnson to readjust his angle and he just didn't. |

JJ is skating in a straight line and Pelech TURNS into him. I think we all by now that JJ doesn’t read plays very well. I highly doubt he knew that Pelech was going to take a huge crossover directly into him
I’ll be honest, I’ve been on the other end of these but if I’m watching the puck and not where I’m going and I jump into someone else’s lane... who’s fault is that? It’s like driving on the road. Johnson is legally in his lane and Pelech doesn’t check his mirrors and tries to jump lanes |
