If we hire the Swede as a HC, in two years both him and Botts will be fired and people on this board will be raging against Canadians and meatballs. Give the job to AV and bring the Swede in as one of his assistants. Keep Steve Smith and let him implement his defensive system. Fire the goalie coach and hire somebody better.

BTW - not sure why so many of you are sour on AV. He was an amazing coach with the Canucks. And he took the Rangers to the finals. History shows that only Scotty Bowman has coached two different teams to Stanley Cup victories. Sorry Leaf, Predator and Islander fans.

Well, since he was waiting for the Sabres to make him an offer, they didn't, and he wants a job. I hardly think it's a bad reflection on the Sabres to say thanks, no thanks. In fact, having a well regarded coach being turned down by Buffalo says a lot about how this org is viewed. Believe it or not.

Yeah. But it's interesting that the sabres never made an offer. He almost had the kings job sealed up until a week again when the Sabres entered the market. An offer never even materialized here, and he's had an open offer from the Kings for a while.

You turn down the guys that aren't the best candidates. It's clear to me they have a better idea of who they want coaching instead of Todd. Which is fine. Sure would be nice if we knew the candidates.
