Put a player that could be available if the jets get that early exit is ehlers
Could a ehlers for risto work with Jacob Trouba likely gone and big Buff getting up there in age and injuries affecting him looking at their defense they might look at him

I saw that he signed an ATO with the Amerks but he does have an ELC. That seemed kinda odd to me, not sure why he signed an ATO. Would love to see him get in a game.

ATO allows him to play in the playoffs. If the Sabres assign him, he'd be ineligible. Just an obscure technicality.

not worried about his size?

agreed he would be top 5 if 5 foot 11

Debrincant scores 50+ every year in the OHL. GM’s look retarded allowing him to slip into the 2nd round due to height. Caulfield is shorter then Debrincant and is the most accomplished goal scorer in U18 history in the States. I personally like Boldy’s 200 ft game and total package at 7 but Caulfield should not slip out of the top 15.

His production this past season was just a blip on the radar and not a cause for concern?

They jets would ask for jack for wheeler that’s how important he is to that franchise he might be a Hall of Famer when his career is done

Wheeler doesn’t score goals though. Hardly cracks 20 every year. Assists don’t matter to much of this fan base remember ?

Both him and Patrick Laine had a strange season but ehlers has proven to be a very good player and not a fluky player over the years

Yes lol I think the best years are ahead of him and that’s scary you might be looking at a guy that reserved his body from not trying When he first started in Boston and just milked it till he woke up

He's going to be 33 before the start of next season. He has a long way to go before being a candidate for the hall of fame.

I still like the Risto+ idea to Tampa for Callahan, Cirelli, and Foote.

It would take the 7th overall, not the later first, and a better prospect than Nylander to hope to have a prayer.

Also, Wheeler is making $8.2M for the next 5 years, from age 33 to age 37.

it's a trade that frees up the jets cap problem, which is why I suggested it

Nylander our late first and the blues 2021 2nd rounder could maybe pry Trouba out of there. Wheeler’s age doesn’t fit our timeline.

Yes 33 that’s what I’m saying his age is not a factor he looks and plays like he’s just starting to hit his prime years he will probably hit 100 points next year and have a total of 796 and if he declines I don’t even see will say 70pts ,80,60pts you’re looking at around 1000 points and he still could keep on going ..

But if he doesn’t decline you could be looking at A couple more 90 point seasons and then go 60 pts etc

More likely that it centers around someone like Borgen or Samuelsson.

That would be some feat for him to break 100 next year at 33 for the first time in his career.
