He's there purely for a physical presence along with Wilson. Thing is, neither were all that physical in gm1. - Thorny87
I think he's a work in progress to me. Every once in a while you see something that makes you think he might be more than a 4th liner, but I don't even view him as a must start during the playoffs.....especially if he's still hurt to some degree. IDK... He didn't look ready to me. Maybe it was just rust. I know Sully loves him....so that's always going to work in his favor.
Yes, neither were very physical at all. I thought they had a couple of nice cycles, but nothing more. |

I just think Sid is going to be on a mission tonight. I still think the Isles come out harder in the first as the Pens aren't typically a strong first period team, but I think the Pens will explode in the 2nd and put it away in the third. |

Any of our local fans deal with those Sundance vacation folks?
Hole Lee (frank) they do not stop a hard sell call.
By the end of the call I had my gf died since last year, no job, no family and on a no fly list... and they still had an option to try and push Pirate tickets or the Pittsburgh orchestra on me.

I agree with that, but if the big difference in this series is ZAR over Blueger, this team has more problems than I thought. - jmatchett383

All six of our six best defensemen are better than Macdonald. - Victoro311
When they're playing to their abilities, I agree. But again, I ask: you did see Maatta and Dumo last game? |

We did see that game but we've also seen hundreds of other games for each of them as well and know they're a lot better than that. |

They gotta get Wilson out the line up. Dont care if it's for a 7d. Tge guy sucks. The fact the isles r throwing their 4th line out against sid n he ain't doing poop is laughable n has tk change,
I think mccan has to be on the top line he has tk good of a release.. rust has been hurt or $hit most of the yr hell I'd rather see horny |

Again, I agree. But my point is that you don't have 5-6 games for them to get back to speed and get back on track, they need to be ready to go 2 days ago, and they weren't. |

Thinking we should have made a trade with not great cap implications because some guys had one bad game is myopic. Sid played like a 4th liner that game too. Should we have sold the farm for a center at the deadline anticipating that Crosby would have a bad game in the first round? |

I think everyone needs to stop calling it that. They had they 4th, 5th and 6th most ice time at 5 on 5 in game 1 and were arguably the most effective. That's not 4th line time nor material. |

I think that everyone in the hockey world would agree than Andrew MacDonald had one of the worst contracts of the last decade. But with only 1 year left, at with 50% of his cap hit retained, I honestly thought he would make a good 7th/8th defenseman for the Penguins in the case that Dumoulin couldn't go or Maatta didn't make it to the arena until the game was over. And I still stand by that. |

1 year at $2.5M isn't great, agreed, but it's about what he'd make as a UFA.
And if Sid was returning too early from injury like Dumo or had played most of the season like Maatta, then yes, I'd expect he'd play like he did in Game 1. |

Does anyone else struggle with being a fan of a perennial playoff team, and the fact the playoffs are the best time to be on the water? My girl got me a new badass sonar /fishfinder and my schedule is full of hockey to watch. Lifeβs tough. - Grinder47
I only make it out in the gulf mornings on the weekend so the noon games really (frank) me up on that but my buddy with the boat is out of town this week so there will be no fishing for me. |

It was, at first...but right now, he actually might have helped. For a game or two, he can be used as a 6th defenseman on this team. |
