It'd be nice if they could switch to that big surface. I like it. - JRR1285
That is never gonna happen. Would mean owners losing valuable seats. |

Mostly why I love Tavares now - TPC
For the record I always liked Tavares. Just so very jealous he was not here. But then I found out he slept in Maple Leafs PJ's. |

I keep thinking I might subscribe but I never follow through. - JRR1285
You should, it's really worth it.
I'm pretty sure they were offering 40% of the first year to celebrate the playoffs or something. For like $30 it's totally worth it. If you hate it just cancel it when it's set to renew. |

You really should. They have writers for all 31 teams, plus national coverage. I love the articles by McIndoe, like this one was. He has a great sarcastic sense of humor which pretty much everyone on this board would love. |

I think you see Kreider eye-to-fly, as well. If you catch my drift. |

For those of you that have access to the Athletic, this is a great article. It's amazing how a win here or there against certain teams played out in terms of the lottery.

The piece on the Rangers from the column:
New York Rangers – January 10
Another winner that makes things easy for us, as one extra win or one more regulation loss moves them out of their lucky No. 26 spot. That gives you most of their 2018-19 schedule to choose from.
I’m going to go with a game from Jan. 10, because rivalries are fun and it also gives me a chance to include some old friends in this piece. On that day, I wrote a post about New York Islanders fans, and their season-long complaint that the team wasn’t getting enough respect. While we were all politely debating that point, the Isles happened to be at MSG to face their archrivals in the first game of a home-and-home.
They didn’t get off to a good start, as former Islander Ryan Strome scored for the Rangers just a minute in, but the game turned into a tight one and was tied 3-3 late in the third. That’s when Cal Clutterbuck found Josh Bailey with a cross-ice pass, with Bailey beating Henrik Lundqvist for the winner with just over a minute left. It was the Islanders first shot on goal of the entire period.
After the game, Rangers coach David Quinn called the loss “heartbreaking,” adding that in terms of the most disappointing games of the season, ”It might be at the top of the list.”
In hindsight, maybe not. If the Rangers end up winning that game, they move up to 25th place, and it’s the Oilers who drop to 26th and end up picking second overall. So if you’re a Rangers fan headed out to buy a Kaapo Kakko jersey today, don’t forget to stop and thank an Islanders fan for making it happen. |

And if Calgary beats Edmonton (without McDavid!) in the last game of the season, the Oilers would have had the #2 pick. Absolutely crazy the way it works out. I had no idea the way the lottery is really structured. Very interesting stuff. |

really everything worked out for the Rangers, they didn't tank, still landed #2 overall and Georgiev showed he has the potential to be a #1 starter in this league, and may have built some serious trade value |

I'm on a trial now. I clicked to cancel it to see what would happen and it extended it to 14 days. At the end of that I can get it for 40% off if I want.
It's good so far. The Ray Emery article was especially good. |

I'm all in on giving the job to Shestyorkin. Trade Georgiev for something nice.
How will they be compliant for expansion? They will need to pull someone off the scrap heap. |

You either lose Georgiev to expansion or lose him now for a return. You pick. |

Wrong. You force Hank to retire or accept a trade, plug in someone they could lose to exspansion and have Gorgie and Shesty as your 1-2.. Suck it |
