It’s funny reading some of the Kuhnhackl comments from last night too. If you couldn’t recognize his puck skills in the amount of time he spent here I just don’t know. I don’t understand why Sully would be so quick to put a guy like Simon with Sid and never gave Kuhnhackl a shot. Don’t believe everything a blogger tells you.
- Grinder47

The thing with Kuhnackl is he’s always had those moves that come out of nowhere it’s the fact that he pulls them once every 65 games. He’s done it a handful of times in a Pens Jersey too but it was always a rare occurrence.

hahah yeah....was it they were horrid or that the Isles "4th line" just totally outworked them? Combo of the two?

I don't think that will happen again, but I would absolutely experiment with another RW.

Thank god. I thought he hurt a knee or broke a leg. Didn't get to watch the end of the 3rd period and OT. A missed oportunity to beat the Islanders. We'll get them next time as long as our young guys start playing.

I always thought Kelly’s treatment of Wood was just typical racist Kelly not giving our clearly most talented black player more touches, but maybe Cierre really was just a terrible human that didn’t deserve slack. Damn.

Last night was a much more open and loose game than I was expecting for this series. Obviously I want us to tighten up, but this style of play will favor the Pens in the long run, and I highly doubt the first line will play that poorly again. That was a true anomaly. The Isles 4th line played as good as they possibly could (have a moment, Grinder), but even in that case there’s no excuse for Sid and G to get dominated like that. That won’t happen again, and if the Sid unit wasn’t getting caved last night we win.

Lots of scum bags have come through Notre Dame during the Kelly Era. Wonder if maybe, just maybe, BK has a recruiting and culture problem with his program. Nah, I’ve been told by the beat writers and subway alums that Kelly is a winner and a great recruiter that gets guys that fit ND rather than going 5 star hunting, so that can’t be it.
