Power play goals against on not purely on the 4 in front...there is that thought that your best penalty killer has to be your goalie....its overused but it's TRUE.

Murray was soft as (frank) on the 1 on 4 goal that didnt count..and looked awful on the first that did count.

Yeah the offside goal was a joke and pointing to things like that justifies to me that he isn’t a great goalie. Both of the actual goals, yeah it would be nice to see a stud goalie rob one there, but he isn’t that. I’d never try to convince you that he is. Both goals were guys all alone on the doorstep by dumo, who for all purposes is the teams de facto best defensive defenseman

The only reason why I’m worried right now is because if we lose Johnson has cemented a roster spot when we were so close to not seeing him again.

Other than that, I’m not worried for the series. Our forwards look great and are generating plenty of dangerous chances. The Isles are running off a ton of adrenaline right now and their crowd is absolutely raucous which is feeding their energy. Crowd probably won’t keep that up, first game adrenaline will wear off, and our defense and Murray will eventually settle in. No reason to be worried unless we see a trend start next game and go to Pitt down 0-2.

That first paragraph is why I’m so on edge right now. I don’t think even losing the first game in the series would be fatal but for the large lineup handicap it will cause. Literally none of the issues the pens are having right now will be anything but heightened by the inclusion of JJ

I expect a much better period by the Pens. I'm really not concerned.

I don't know why I'm surprised by the completely irrational freaking out taking place right now.

Yeah... I'm not close to being worried yet. That was a microcosm of the whole season. Didn't come out ready and giving up too much space.

Everybody should have known the Isle will come out flying.

Pens are generating chances. That’s good. In my opinion that PP goal started with Rust. He tried to backhand sauce over to Cullen. That trapped both PKers behind in the play, gave them an easy entry, and the entire unit wasn’t in disarray the entire sequence. Credit to Eberle though for that dance and backhand pass to the middle. Dude definitely shouldn’t have been all alone. Letang made a bad read and took his stick out of the royal road passing lane and Dumo was late as (frank) lol Isles has some sick passing on that PP though credit to them. They exposed the PK chaos from the broken up 2v1.

Edit: I’d like to see less of the Pens entering the zone, pulling up and flinging it to the net from horrid angles. They didn’t do it a ton but they definitely did on a few occasions.

He’s such a good player too. I’ve always enjoyed watching him play. Soft hands.

I'll never like him until he proves me wrong...I've not liked him from day one. It only took the first playoff run for players to figure him out. The pens need a goalie that makes those stud saves because they have always hemorrhaged quality chances. Look how good maf looks on a team that doesnt. Alot of ppl had no issues destroying fluery for struggling but those same ppl cant eat crow and do the same when MM is sucking.

Johnson killing Schultz is a death sentence for us. Maybe not in this series, but it will eventually catch up to us.

More things change more they stay the same. This post brings back memories of some Fleury poop posts from back in the day.

Yeah, if we went by who deserves to be scratched based solely on this game, it's Dumoulin, but he's safe. Plenty of game left.

He made that one poopty pass on the PK that caused chaos to ensue but other than that he’s been Rust.

I think it's lame as (frank) they played the Entourage theme song earlier.
