You and Bowman must be thinking, is it worth moving down in round one if we can get rid of Seabrook contract? Would we be able to draft Dach instead of Cousins?
This just to avoid loosing a really good player to expansion draft? Begets this: can Seabrook retire and forfeit final term on contract? Blackhawks would then give him a new contract as a scout for not only the same term and money remained if he had not retired + something more. Maybe one more year and $4 mill?

When Marner signs for $10.5 mil. there goes your glorious cap space - LAHawk
We'd be trading Toronto cap space, they'd be saving not having to pay Marner |

And what about our cap space? You lose your best defenseman and have no money to spend.

We need more Saad types, not fewer. Gustafsson is the trade chip. - Ogilthorpe2
Well Anderson would replace Saad, same type of player |

Saad, to the eye test, sometimes appears to be motivationally challenged. That should only happen occasionally, when you're raking in 6m per.

True. But feel free to shovel a little this way, will ya? Otherwise stated, I don't think he always plays to his full potential. Recall Q desiring to rhetorically go after him with a blowtorch. Oftentimes, I feel the same way. Maybe if the Hawks turn the corner, we'll see the old Saadfather. |

Good enough, then! Ever since the installation of the pacemaker, I require a quality reality check every now and then. Thanks for the response. |

Just draft the Russian so Kings have a chance at Cozens or Dach.
Or draft Byram Bowen.
Hell maybe Kings trade down and get a player like Zegres who has barzal potential.
Pretty ridiculous the 1and 2 teams dropped the max amount of spots while Chicago gets handed a gift. |

Zegras won't be around if the Kings drop too far. His stock is rising and I have seen him ranked in the top 5 recently. |

Give Saad his own line to drive. Seems he responded really well this season once he was placed in that spot. |

Lol. Sorry about the short responses - not much time to type out cool stuff like Elbows does.
Just having fun with the original response.
I have no data to support this, but sometimes it looks like the bigger, power forward types are inconsistent. |

Says the fan of a team who drafted Kane and Toews back to back years and now get a top 3 pick.
Hawks got rewarded handsomely with Toews and Kane due to them tanking. So yeah you can be rewarded for tanking.

I saw the advanced analytics on some of the Hawks lines the other day, and if memory serves correctly the Saad-AA-Kahun line had a 63% CF together and it wasn’t too small a sample size either.
Would love to see that third line heading into next season (assuming AA is still around). |

My guess if kings trade the 5 pick. It’ll be to BUF. kings would get 7th pick SJ 1st and most likely another asset.
Idk. I’d rather keep the 5 pick but John hoven really believes they’ll trade down. I wouldn’t do that if dach or cozens is available |

This from a team that got cap relief for the Voynov and Richards contracts.
