It's actually 2 separate trades although they're connected because the main piece in the first trade is used in the second trade. - EbonyRaptor

They added Curling in Orlando. Have not got into it yet.
I am just an old man who still loves playing hockey and competing. No guru, just a big fan of the game.

Ooh, Ice Technician...that sounds ok but I might prefer Ice Master. If Mo is lurking, I said “Ice”, Mo, and that’s how I meant it. - HawkintheD
Well, in that context.....would you rather be an ice master or an ice technician? |

Not quite. And if TG is as old as he lets on then he might be scared off by the sport because every team has a Skip who calls all of the shots and then stands there and yells at the rest of his team to sweep harder and faster.
The old curling rinks in Canada used to have ash trays and drink holders on posts down the length of the rink. Now apparently they want athletes to play the game.

https://www.nbcsports.com...s-blackhawks-no-3-overall
Article on NBC Sports Chicago by Charlie Roumeliotis about possible picks at the 3 spot. All players he listed have been talked about on these boards since the lottery drawing but one name he mentioned that I was intrigued by is Peyton Krebs. Plays LW/C. He's not on my list to take at #3 but was someone I had my eye on if the Hawks remained picking in the 10-15 range.
Article excerpt about Krebs:
The Blackhawks have had a rotation of players at left wing over the last couple seasons, so there's certainly a desire to start adding some high-level talent in that area and giving their centers offensive playmakers and goal scorers to play with. They also like having versatility up front and players who can bounce around positions if needed. Krebs would fit the description here as a player who can also play center.
The 18-year-old forward led the Kootenay Ice of the WHL this season with 68 points (19 goals, 49 assists) in 64 games, and did so while facing the highest quality of competition on a nightly basis. Krebs, 5-foot-11, 180 pounds, is known to have a terrific hockey IQ and plays with a high motor. He's also the captain of Kootenay, showing he's got the leadership qualities every team aspires to have in the locker room. |

FWIW, this article also makes mention that Craig Button is confident that Podkolzin will play in the NHL in 2019-20. |

I worry about Podkolzin making it here in 2-3 years, Hawks need help now. I like Cozens, but the name I really want called is WE HAVE A TRADE!!
Obviously it has to be a big win of a trade but I like what someone else posted that Stan needs to send out a mass email saying the pick is in play. See who bites! |

I'm sure they will do their homework and make sure he wants to come to the NHL. The truth is most of us have never seen any of these kids play except a couple world junior games.
Have to trust the scouts and hope they take Johnny Toews instead of Cam Barker! |

He wants to come to the NHL, he won't go to the AHL. And his contract with his team is something that they can easily get out of with an under the table deal. IMO you guys are the best option for him. |

I have no idea why he thinks that, doesn’t seem like that’s a view supported by others. Here’s his picks if anyone is interested.

Nothing should be ruled out but don't you think Bowman would have more leverage if teams approached him for the pick? Sending out an email that he is interested to move the pick may suggest to teams he's desperate. |

Bowman is going to trade the #3 pick along with Seabrook to the Panthers in return for 3 picks, one in the second round, one in the 4th, and one in the 7th. |

Nah - the best option for Podkolzin is for the Rangers to draft him and then bring him and Kravtsov (their 1st rounder from last year) over together to help each other with the transition to N.A. C'mon Rangers - think about it.

Posted this right before the new blog came up, question still stands for me. Not sure where these guys stand and how they could effect Stan's focus at 3, or lower.
We've obviously talked about the D prospects and some of the big F's, but what about some of the other prospects we have. Notably Kurashev, Kubalik, Hakkarainen, Slavin, and (about to butcher this) Alty-bumface-yan. I've heard mention of Kubalik next year, but how do the others stack up? I remember when we drafted some of these guys some of the hype around them, and seen some highlight reel plays from a few. Do these pan out to the NHL? Or are they more add-in prospects on deals? - HawksHype
I'll take a stab at your inquiry on the forward prospects you listed:
On Kurashev, there was an article about him yesterday on the Blackhawks website. I've seen his first few games as an Ice Hog and while he hasn't dented the scoresheet, you can tell he cares about playing a 200 foot game as he didn't make any mistakes, positioned himself well, and covered for any D mates who were lured out of position. When he did handle the puck, you did see glimpses of offensive talent and hockey sense. Project him as a middle 6 forward, likely as a winger even though he has played center.
https://www.nhl.com/black...-rave-reviews/c-306603214
On Kubalik, he could be at least a 20/20 power forward with grit if he lives up to what others have billed him as but could also flop. Project him as a middle 6 power forward if banging on all cylinders.
On Hakkarainen, he was drafted last year and is likely at least a year away from signing an ELC. Plays a solid 200 foot game. Projects as a bottom 6 player, likely as 4th line shutdown center. Possibly a better version of Kampf, i.e. strong defense but better offensive skills.
On Slavin, big body and is best to play at least a year at Colorado College next season before thinking about making a jump. Probably best to stay 2-3 years in college. Projects as a bottom 6 power winger who can beat the other team along the boards and drive the net.
Don't know much about any of the Russian forward prospects whether Altybarmakyan, Kayumov, or Shalunov. The Hawks will be lucky if just one of them crosses the pond. |

Depending on the return Stan should consider it. I wouldn't look to move the pick, but if there is a good opportunity it should be explored. It's been a long time since a top 3 draft pick has been dealt. |
