Today @ 9:52 AM ET
Went to Draftsite 10 minutes after they got the #3 to see who you slotted there and it was not accessible, lotta traffic man.

But this morning I got on and I couldn't help myself, I first looked to see where you have NTDP centerman John Beecher. Very happy to see you have him at 41 where most everyone else has him about 70. Saw the 18's live twice this yr with Hughes, Turcotte and Zegras dressed and my eyes kept going towards Beecher. ......... To my eye a big, top speed in a few strides, skilled centerman who's floor is really high. ...... Be great if the Hawks find a way to get this kid 2nd or 3rd rd. But:

No doubt to me the Cossack is a beast. Big, fast, plays hungry, plays fast, thinks fast, high compete, hunts pucks, NHL release, can create his own shot, vision/hands to make a play and very very skilled.

I'll let guys like you decide who slots 2-3 but as far as the Hawks using the #3 I can not take even the slightest chance on a player who may or may not report 2-3 yrs from now. Maybe at #20, maybe even at #10 but not at #3 no matter his ceiling. Not with centers available with a better chance than not of being top 3 NHLers available at #3.
- Mr Ricochet

I also will let them decide, and believe me I see franchise in Cozens and Dach, who are very different.
Maybe they do stay home.
Saw Cozens up close and he iss gonna grow bigger thicker. He is tough in his attributes to the Dub where he plays.
He has jump, hands and is no consolation prize as are MANY others.

They know get to decide not take what is left.

The site was clogged with traffic and I couldn't even read my redraft thoughts that I added.

Wiz - assuming Kakko has the higher floor, who has the higher ceiling between Kakko and Cozens?

DC !!!

Take the shoot first sniper centre with thee speed.

Such a great day, add a gifted forward to that group of young D men thats on the way.

You know the Rangers may (frank) this whole thing up and take the Russian at #2. Kakko falls to 3 to the Blackhawks ? Hockey twitter would go bananas.

We are hoping they do, so the Finn falls, but it unlikely.

No GM is perfect. But I am a Bowman believer. The main hit on him is the Seabs contract and handing out NMC and NTC clauses. But he has done plenty of good things too. This should be an interesting off season. Bowman has a high draft pick, cap space, some tradable assets (ok mainly prospects and future draft picks).

You're preaching to the choir, I believe the biggest mistake Bowman has made was the Seabrook contract too. I wasn't being critical of him, I said it wouldn't surprise me if he makes a pick from left field as he's done in the past.

It iS more different players with KK more Norh-South speed, functionally stronger to move off of the checkers with balance e, like you see Jonathan Toews fat rear anchor him. He might be ready NOW, as he is in the Finn Pro league.

Big Dylan wants to shoot ad is not afraid of contact, but in the tourneys he seemed not as successful in his O.

At this point ONE is better so he is ranked higher.

I think I might be sold on Cozens now, but I’d also be happy with Dach or Byram.

You'd pass on Podkolzin?

I think drafting a damn, who would be at least a couple years away from the nhl, would b a mistake. Dmen take longer to get ready for the show. We need to upgrade now on d, which is why I think we should do that through free agency. Taking a big strong skilled guy like cozens would seem to be the best play. As good as he may be, taking the Russian is too risky and Stan can not afford to hit anything less than a home run with this pick.

I'm sold on Turcotte. check out this scouting report. With a high end motor that does not quit ..... what would playing for your hometown team do to that motor ?

It is it possible that a team behind the Hawks want Podkolzin so bad that they trade up a few spots and overpay the Hawks while the Hawks drop a few spots and get Cozen. Not sure where Cozen is currently slotted to go.

How about trading our #3 to Buffalo for their #7 and Brandon Montour?

Because he’s Russian, already signed to a KHL contract and doesn’t appear to be in any hurry to come to North America.

Stan is probably sitting at his desktop now composing an email to 30 other teams soliciting offers for the pick.

Don't get too far ahead of yourself, there is no reason to think Byram will be ready to step into the NHL as 18 year old. He appears, by the small description of him to be a decent defenseman but nowhere in his past or present is he considered special, like Rasmus Dahllin was. And while Dahlin had a decent year he struggled at times too.
- paulr

PLEASE please read what I said about him b/c the elite 4 - direction feet may be hiding his lack of enough instinctive hockey sense in his end.

If you are talking someone take him top three, I also hope it is others like Rangers...
