I guess I eat my words. This choke reminds me of the time Nashville blew a 3 goal lead to the Hawks

TSN's Craig Button said Tuesday night that he doesn't have any doubts that Podkolzin will play in the NHL next season - SoftServe
Did you hear him say that? I thought it was reported Button said he will play in the NHL but didn't say anything about "next season".

Stamkos missing that open net halfway through the 3rd really deflated his team. |

London with their first loss in the playoffs but still up 3 games to 1 over Guelph. Boqvist with another goal tonight giving him 9 goals in 8 playoff games. Entwistle picked up an assist. |

Hedman getting walked by Savard couldn't have helped either. Hedman went for a Gus on that play. |

Playoffs will never change, it's always all about defense and Tampa looked sloppy on all 4 goals. I expect them to tighten up and win it but tonight was a wake up call. |

I heard it on the NHL Network after the lottery. He did say he expects him to play in the NHL next season. |

If I knew he was coming over, I'd take him in a heartbeat (assuming Hughes and Kakko are 1-2). I've only seen Cozens once, and wasn't impressed. That being said, what I've read over the last 24 hours has got me wanting him at #3. I worry that Pod will be another Shalunov, and not come over till he's 27. |

For as much grief as Stan gets, some of it deserved, I think he has a plan and that plan is to try to get back to Cup contending status while the old core is still playing at a high level. Therefore, I doubt Stan would select Podkolzin UNLESS he knew without a doubt that Podkolzin would come to N.A. immediately - not leaving it up to the whims of an 18 year old to probably do this or that. This is a gift that must not be squandered by pinning hopes on something not 100% guaranteed. If Stan doesn't have a rock solid assurance Podkolzin will play on the Hawks in 2019/20 then I have to believe he will select someone else. - EbonyRaptor

Agreed...if Hughes is a gift to the Blackhawks, you be very happy. |

S2S, You're on a roll. Been drinking Red Bull or something today?
Seriously, I don't think Hughes or Kakko falls to us. As of others have posted, Podkolzin, being a Russian, scares me off. Cozen would be my choice, unfortunately maybe not immediate help next year. - boilermaker100
