You may hope the Leafs win the Cup. But, you might change your mind when you read this :

Yes, Budweiser promises to release a special edition can for it's watered-down, piss-water-excuse-for-a-beer : if the Lightning win the Cup.
It's everything you never wanted in a beer. What an amazing time we live in. - GalacticStone
Then I've got a good feeling about the Leafs' chances this year:

Jesus Christ people. Can we please leave politics outside the hockey forums? Check that poop at the door. Nobody here wants to hear it. I am not singling out Wedgie here as he was responding to someone who brought it up first.
Everyone knows the US is a clusterphuck and it's politics is poisonous. Let's not introduce that toxin into hockey talk.
Thank you. - GalacticStone

I'll gladly wear a MAGA hat over what the left is now doing.

Good Lord, Obama was right: it's a circular firing squad.
Apparently Bernie Sanders - darling of the disaffected young far-left of the party, is now the enemy, because...wait for it...he used his popularity to make a million bucks by writing a book.
I guess he should have sat on his ass instead, which would make him still eligible to be their leader.
WTF is wrong with America?
I can remember a time, not so long ago, when people thought being successful was a good thing. Something to be admired.
Write it down: Donald Trump wins 2020, and the Democrats will fully deserve their whoppin'. - Atomic Wedgie

I was thinking maybe you were going to air your grievances about the new herring tax your government is introducing, or criticize the fjiord development plans of Norway. |

If we sidestep the political commentary, there's a very distinguishable social commentary that's been going on for sometime.
The bottom line is that we as a core people want the same common message, I think: Don't be an ass.
But so many interest groups have grasped this core tenet and pulled it in so many opposing ways, that's hard for anyone to find centre anymore.
Whether a person is a liberal, conservative, or Christ even a libertarian is irrelevant, because it's almost like they don't know what they want to even know enough to ask how to get what they want.
This is why sports is so much easier. |

Bracco needs to get a few points tonight. He's tied for 1st in the AHL with 77 points. - GreatGigInTheSky
The guy he is tied with, the Leafs drafted in he 3rd round.
Don't think he will see any ice with Tampa though in he future with their depth. They will likely have to trade him.

I'm in my annual playoff pool I do with a bunch of buddies. Usually around 20 of us.
I gotta rank teams 1-8 in each conference. 8 being the highest and 1 being the lowest.
Whatever you have a team ranked, is how many points they get you per win.
I'm having a very difficult time this year, so many good matchups most can go either way. My picks need to be submitted by 7pm
So stressful lol |

I did my annual bracket.
We play for money in the regular pool, and pride in the playoff bracket so I went full chaotic evil and chose Leafs over Flames in the finals. As a Leafs fan any other pride I have is long gone by now. |

It's funny how crap beers in home countries get elevated to premier beers in foreign countries.
Canadian is our pissy lager (although better than Blue).
Nobody in Mexico drinks Corona.
There's plenty of beers in Europe that are marketed to the homeless, yet in North America they are premier beers.
You know what the best beer in the world is?
Free beer. |

I'm doing the family pool in an hour.
Me, my wife, two kids, and the dog gets to pick based upon which piece of kibble she eats.

Luckily you have free healthcare to deal with that, and free education to teach you better...

You have two options:
1) Pick the Leafs all the way like a true blue koolaid chuggin SOB that you are.
2) Pick the opposite of the Leafs all the way in order to have some small victory to hold onto if they lose.

I think Wedginald means that some brands that are sold internationally (Fosters, Carlsberg, Stella etc) are just run of the mill, average or worse beers in their homeland.
He's not wrong... |
