Pick just one Leaf player that will have the biggest contribution this playoff series.

I picked on him for not giving a consistent effort game in and game out but my choice is;

Matthews.

Mitch.

Boston have got a deadly powerplay, and Marner is a (frank)ing beaut 4v5. Add in his role on the PP and 1RW and I think that he'll be the most impactful, unless Freddie stands on his head.

True, but you can't undo the past.

I was just curious if the #4 will be better then Tkachuk or if they should have gave up last years and kept this years.

dunno, wont know for a while. But its being celebrated like a victory and Brady is the right choice

its a toss up for me Kadri or Nylander

But I think the Leafs need Kap/Jonsson to step up for them to have a chance, they were pretty quiet the last 20 games

I think the third line as a whole has to be a difference maker.

I'd throw in Kapanen.

The minor quibble I have is this: At what level of performance are they meeting your expectation and at what level are they a difference maker? In a 7 game series, you expect Matthews or Tavares to have at least 3 goals, and 6 points. Ideally more, but in a tight affair opportunities are diminished.

To me, Boston has a lot to watch, but the guy who can exploit them the best is probably Kapanen with his speed and the fact that he will get more favourable matchups.

Tavares has a lot to prove this post season, and I think he steps up and does it. He never saw playoff success with the Isles, but is now with a squad that can do it. If he's looking to build a legacy then this is the place to start.
