How many draft lotteries has Taylor Hall won now? 4 or 5?
- Tojo.

This was the first thing I thought of too. Now that I live in AZ I was hoping they would jump up but I was also secretly hoping the Devils would get Hughes. I want Hall to play for a good team again. Imagine if they picked up Karlsson and plucked Hayes as a short term 2C long term 3C. They could rise up in a hurry

Hahaha. I guess I live in your head. I’m guessing you made that. Nice work. More into evil angel though. If I had internet skills I would reply with a circle jerk of all your names onto Jake Guentzel’s face. Just use your imagination though.

When has this Islanders team won the Cup? Remind me.
- Victoro311

Hopefully not this year. Tampa’s a long way from Andreychuk and Tortarella though. But as we all heard Tanner say before. “Presidents trophy is harder to win than a cup”. Trying to validate all the stats that went into his blogs.

He also thinks your fourth line makes you more dangerous then Tampa in the playoffs, so we're not letting him make those calls.
- Tojo.

Well he’s right of course.

Entering his last year so if he doesn't sign an extension they may need to consider trading him soon.
- Tojo.

He's going to get major loot.

I figure he'll want to go somewhere he can win. Getting Hughes might make NJ that team.

Every Sens fan must be happy
- Rinosaur

See, I don't get this. The trade is done, over, the pick is not your's, so why care about whether they pick 1st or 4th?

You may be sarcastic in this instance, but if I was a Sens fan, I couldn't care less where the pick fell because it was gone a year ago, and since it's out-of-conference, it will have minimal effect on them.

They definitely have some young promising pieces and about to get more, could entice him.

Hes probably going to get around 12/13 mill per year for max term wherever he signs.

Go home, lock the doors, pull down the shades, and just watch copious amounts of international internet porn.

Considering how underwhelming the Duchene era was and that they're now rebuilding themselves, I think I'd be pretty upset if I were a Sens fan and that was a top 2 pick and it turned into a franchise player.

That's what I meant, I think he signs for less than full value because he's going to want to win since he's spent his while career on bad teams and just seems the type where that will matter. Just a guess on my part though.

Yeah, I get that as a fan using hindsight you could be upset...but it literally had zero effect on the organization/team whether or not the pick was #1 or #31.

Because if I remember correctly it was up to the Sens which year they gave Colorado the first, this year or last. It would have sucked to have been that wrong.

For anyone that doesn't think both the lotto system and point system are broken:

DET has 5 less ROWs than any other team over the last 3 seasons (even less than VGK in 2 seasons lol) and doesn't even have a top 5 pick to show for it.

Just read Jesse’s write up in The Athletic. Super good. While he doesn’t come out and say it explicitly, his point about break out support from the blue line really shows how Jack Johnson can single handedly sink this entire series if his presence continues to neuter Schultz. We need Schultz to be Schultz to really gain the upper hand in this series.
