I say it was a wasted year, because they didn’t progress that much and are looking for yet another coach.

we have quality centers . Just need the game plan and team philosophy.

Buffalo has 2 and could badly use a 3rd.

Both Turcotte and Zegras were significantly better in the USHL than Mittelstadt if that helps.

Dach and Krebs show well with fancy stats.

I don’t think anyone is denying 7 will. E good. Problem is that guy is 2-3 years away from even cracking team

Exactly. We'll get a quality player, preferably a center.

Chances were better that we were picking 5-7 then top 3. We will get a very good prospect, best guess is Turcotte or Krebs.

And at a position of need as well.

They're drafting top 7 in the right year in terms of what they need organizationally.

Probably 1-2 years from playing in buffalo. #3-#8, maybe even #9 are very close in skill. Probably 2 end up being stars, 2 duds and 3 very good: just choose the right one.

Perspective - how fcked would we have been if we dropped from #1 to #4 (like Colorado) last year

Agreed but I can be talked into moving that pick. I think they are in a good spot where they can take advantage of Dahlin being on an ELC for 2 more years.

#7 overall could bring in the right guy. Id at least hope they entertain the idea.

It will all work out . Look how long our top picks over the years took to be an impact .
A better coach should take that up a few notches .
I'ts all I got for hope .

Neither are falling to the respective spots. Turcotte is going 4th to the Avs.

If it was mainly defensemen available in the top 8 to 9, it'd be easier of a talk for me, but with so many quality centers in the top of the draft, it would take a lot of talking to get me to move that pick.

Not big on Zegras but this is Botterill so he's probably the pick at 7

In my scenario they likely move it for a centre..maybe a right shot d-man

The logical segue to that: is Risto really getting that much in return in a trade?

Is it worth trading 20 and 7 to move up, if a team was willing to do it.

Ask me in December and I’ll let you know.

So in the October and November games you cheer for neither wins nor losses? I need to see this team win games, and more importantly, I think the players on the team need to win. It seems there is real psychological damage being done to players and fans of this team.

How many more season of this is Jack going to want to stick around for? Will Dahlin be cool with pissing away ELC without a sniff of playoffs? Skinner could very well walk away from the loser stench of this franchise. And other players around the league can smell it as well. They're not all going to be shoving each other out of the way to line up and play with the immortal Kirby Dach (or whoever).

This past season was not some great success.

I mean, in general yes, but this is more because of Botterill's love for american/college prospects.

They can be good
