13. If 3 teams behind us win 1 2 3. Highly unlikely. Highest odds are 10th or 11th.

Obviously i would like to get into the top 3 but if we do not I feel confident in our staff. We have drafted well in the first round the past few years, but how much does Pryor leaving affect the staff as a whole?

This is incorrect. Changes dont need to be made. Just little tweaks. They need to add a player or two and I would agree they need a Vet Dman. The rest of the roster is fine. It comes down to adapting. Teams know how to counter the Flyers play. It is up to the coaches to alter their system. PP is the biggest system overhaul needed.
- xShoot4WarAmpsx

Every team has advance scouting and knows the other teams systems, set plays, PP configuration, etc. Coaches will select certain breakouts such as a center breakout versus a side breakout or a reverse rim play dependent on the other teams forecheck scheme. Select certain set plays off of faceoffs depending on the opposition etc. It really comes down to who executes and makes plays. All of the advance scouting is useless without that. Better players who play with more skill and speed, execute better. Do you think every team that plays TB doesn't know what they're going to do and what their tendencies are? The Flyers PP works and worked for years. They just need to execute better and make plays. The entire hockey world knows that Washington is going to try and set Ovechkin up for a one timer on the PP.

no thats my opinion just as this is yours. This same group hasn't and wont get it done ever imo.

individually good players, though its clear they are not and haven't been a good team. how many coaches do they need before the players are moved out?

- daryl stanley

The current groups avg age is 25...... Guys like NoPa, Konecny, Lindblom and most our D havent hit their prime yet. They are going to improve their game and the Flyers will improve as a result. Some additions need to be made but no significant changes to the roster need to be made.

I'd love to be top 3 but also dont want to see rangers devils get a top 3. So if none or us get it great.

Yea everyone knows that but WSH has other options. You cant just cover Ovi on PP and kill the Penalty. With the Flyers if you take away Giroux, the PP isnt much of a threat. That is exactly what WSH did to us. Took away G and Ghost as options on the PP and we couldnt score.

Id look at Drew Doughty, i think he would be a great add to the blue line to mentor Provy, Sanheim, and Myers. Along with Gudas, adding another bottom 4 pairing defender like a Jordie Benn or an Anton Stralman type would really balance out the defense well. and also wouldn't break the bank.

What are you adding to get Doughty?

In the past this season, Gostisbehere, Voracek, Simmonds and now JVR are other options. Your read that the Flyers don't have other options on the PP is not accurate.

I respectfully disagree. If you want this team to compete for a cup, it's going to take more than tweaks.

It is but the best way to get there is to remain patient and continue to draft and develop players.

So then you agree that they need changes to the team because Giroux alone isn't getting it done....?????

Regarding the draft lottery, the only team that is pretty much already guaranteed to have a rough night is Ottawa.

Not if the ball drops Colorado to 4th overall. If they drop to 4th overall then drafting last year was the right choice.

It is but you still have to balance it with high end talent. Not every 1st rounder pans out.

That’s a thin hope. Even that, if it were me, I’d still be bummed losing out on a top 5 draft pick while simultaneously being one of the worst teams in the league.

At what point to try to make a run with the guys who have been here for a while in their prime like the captain and jake?

you can be patient , draft and develop; thats the mantra of all teams really. clearly some players take longer so while that is going on your core ages and may miss their window.

My hope is, when we look back at this offseason next April, we see the hill labeled “middle ground” with Chuck Fletcher standing proudly waving the Flyers flag before he leads the charge into the 2020 Stanley Cup Playoffs.
