Leafs are the Favorites

poop like this fails to take into account the intangibles like how the laffs have 4 forward and 3 d lines full of creampuffs

They're in the top half of the NHL in height and weight. And that was before the addition of Muzzin.

I posted the numbers and this is the response? GG

He takes his name to heart. Why do you think he traded Rask for Raycroft his own numbers supported it

I kind of wish the leafs would put hyman kadri brown together. Load up a shut down line to go against the Bergeron line and let Matthews and Tavares go against the other lines.

Kadri seems to play better when he has a purpose like that.

We're going to put the Bergeron line on the Tavares Marner line and then McAvoy and Chara against the Matthews line. You might be able to get that matchup at home, but I don't think those 3 are going to be able to shut down 63, 37, 88.

I posted this in the Bruins thread, but since no one is actually there:

Leafs are going to exploit the aging dinosaur that is Chara. All they need to do is get Kappy out there, and constantly place the puck in the soft area behind Chara. Kappy will turn the jets on, making Chara have to turn and skate shift after shift. Come game 3, Chara will be on life support, and the Leafs will be well on their way to a series win.

Is Pastrnak healthy though?

And I always feel Bergeron is one hit away from breaking down.

Call me crazy, but I think injuries, in some way or the other, will have a big impact on this series.

Might just be wishful thinking though.....

Yes, if there's one thing players love, it's getting that puck near the boards, knowing Zdeno Chara is charging in.

meh, just focus on wearing him down by making him have to move that giant mass up and down the ice as much as possible.

Also "charging" is a bit generous, more like lumbering/plodding.

Yeah that seems like the best idea. I hope Matthew's steps up in a more favourable match up this year.

Since returning from his injury he has 15 points in his last 10 games. You tell me?

Splitting your top d men and top line apart works to the Leafs advantage. Also, they will get Kadri out there for sure against Bergeron's line whenever they can im sure.

Of course it does. It's why you went out and got Tavares

It doesn't mean it's not the best tactic for this year.

And how many will he have when Kadri checks him head first into the boards like this year's Tommy Wingels???

Worried about not having Miller?

I know the guy doesn't produce much but I have no idea if that's an impactful loss to you guys.

You have to remember we didn't have Carlo last year. I'd take a healthy Carlo over Miller any day.
