We either get Hall-Hischier-Kakko line or a 1-2 punch of Hischier-Hughes down the middle. No lose situation. |

Can we drop the Kakko stuff now? It's Hughes 100% right? |

I know nothing about either of them, except I know they’re both busts. |

Patrick was considered the pick most of the year up to the draft and Hischier passed him pretty late on. And I don't think anybody is upset about that pick, expect crazies. |

No. I honestly think this is a Nico/Nolan situation. Kakko has closed the gap on a lot of boards. |

Either way, we'll have to deal with the same pressure of the guy we don't pick falling to a rival. Should be fun. I'm team Hughes until further notice. |

Kakko has certainly closed the gap, but going back to the Nico/Nolan situation, they were both centers so its a bit different here. When its a coin flip i think you take the elite center over the elite winger. So i think we go Hughes, especially with Ray being his dad's agent for a time and Hughes skating with Hall during the summers, if that plays into it at all. I'm perfectly fine with either guy though if we decide to go Kakko. Its very annoying that once again though, the other guy in the coin flip will be going to a division rival lmao.
Also, going with Hughes will take some pressure off of Zacha, and we can potentially slide him over to wing now, where he could benefit from that maybe? |

Hall for Larsson has really paid off much more than anybody could have imagined. |

Agree with everything said here, and much like the Nico draft I’ll be happy getting either player, although my preference is to have a big, fast, skilled shooting winger to throw next to Nico and Hall. But it’s impos to be disappointed with a 1-2 punch of Hischier-Hughes. |

We lack forward depth generically so improving at any position is needed. I've liked what I saw in the Kakko highlights but I guess I need to watch Hughes play now too. |

Yeah they're both fantastic players. And judging from Todd's tweets, he seems to think Hughes is our pick! He was right on Nico, so i trust him with this as well! Lol
Keep in mind that theres still some international tournaments to be played before the draft, so things could always change between now and then! |

well then.
Couldn't believe Chicago won, but that's how this lotto thing works.
Still can't believe NY won. I was so pissed. NY and Chicago, of all teams, are gona bounce us to 5th.
.. .then.. when that LA Kings logo was revealed.. hooo baby. Kind of a nice exchange going from 5th to 1st!!!
I can't be alone in feeling that I'd rather have absolutely ANY other team picking after us than NY. Because now, whoever we pick will be compared with who goes 2nd.. and man it would suck to have whoever NY picks to be the better player than ours.
But at the end of the day, we have to trust our scouts, and celebrate the opportunity to pick whoever the heck they think is best.
If both players are comparable, you take the dynamic center over the winger. You take Crosby over OV. .. at least I do. I just think centers have more of an opportunity to make a line better than a winger.
Hischer, Hughes, Zacha down the middle. If both centers are 80pt guys.. and Zacha by some prayer is a 50pt guy.. even 45.. I'll be happy. Hall can be the 100pt player, if healthy. Hopefully Hughes doesn't get hurt in his first season. Kid is so young and light. |
