Nice thing about this draft is a good mix of centers and wings projected early with a Dman thrown in there. Could make an argument that we could use whoever BPA is no matter where we wind up. The only one that makes me a bit nervous is Podkolzin.

I'm a little ignorant, but I feel like you guys are a little too optimistic. Last I heard, neither Hughes or Kakko are projected to be generational talents. They may not even end up being the best players on the team once fully developed. And if guys are slated to be picked after them.. be worse than them.. what kind of player are we talking about getting at 5 or 6? A Nyqvist? A Palmieri? An in-his-prime Zajac? If Hughes ends up being as good as Barzal then I think it's a big win for whoever picks him, based off what I'm reading. If Kakko ends up being as good as Laine, the same thing. But Barzal isn't Tavares (yes I know he's not developed). And Laine isn't a #1 guy either.. but a great #2. I'd definitely be thrilled to draft either of them!

Again, idk all that much about these guys.. just going based off of what I've read this year. I think people are getting too excited about picking 6th in a draft where 1 and 2 isn't Matthews or McDavid.. but is more Hischier/Patrick and lower as you go down the list. The last thing I want is to draft anther Zacha 6th overall.

Somewhat. KHL is aggressive about trying to keep players and can offer more $$$ than the NHL.

Also worried that outside of Kakko all of the top prospects are already playing at high levels in North America so no adjustment period. I think if you wind up with any of Hughes, Kakko or Byram they will play at a high level in the NHL next year.

Hughes is a talent at least on the Nico/Patrick scale. Kakko is playing against adults at the same level Laine did. Byram is matching or exceeding Doughty/Provorov stats in their draft years. There’s a lot to like at the top of this draft. This isn’t going to be a Yakupov year.
