Right - but the 00 shown for the Hawks out in the 15th spot is a rounding representation for something like 0.00004 or something like that.

New write up on Kurashev.
"He's a hockey player," said King, with emphasis. "He's going to be a good hockey player. I'm impressed with him."

Maybe this could end up being too much hype, but I really liked the look of this kid in preseason I watched. I am pulling for him still. Could be a real steal. |

He doesn't have any points in his first two games. Concensus on this board will be he's a bust and the Hawks should cut him at the same time they gas Sikura. |

Definitely don't know about Seabs training regimen. No one knew about Toews either. That is why I said "could be". I am just suggesting that instead of writing him off, we should allow for the possibility that Seabs can have somewhat of a bounce back season, even if it is not of epic proportions like the Toews comeback year. - -Doh-
Toews said his problem wasn't physical it was confidence. So there goes that theory |

The rumor out of camp was that Seabrook did dedicate to working out last summer, and to my eye for the first couple of weeks he looked like he had a bit more jump.
Fast forward the wear and tear of the games in November and December plus a new man-to-man defensive scheme (which works to #7s disadvantage based on his strengths and weaknesses) and he quickly reverted back to 2017-2018 form.
This is based on no knowledge or inside info, but his body language on the ice suggests a back issue, and perhaps more chronic than not. - jrsamu
How about just saying he doesn't seem capable of playing at a high level anymore, instead of guessing about training or your back specialist diagnosis from his body language. You sound moronic |

I agree with that but there is a narrative on this board that Seabrook isn't dedicated and isn't training properly. I have no idea where people get their information? - paulr
Here is another possibility. Like Toews he may have been dedicated, however:
A) He may have had chronic injuries (concussion or otherwise) that take the body a longer time to recover from.
B) Like Toews he may have been committed to certain diets or training regimens that did not produce the desired results the last two years. (Like the line from Harry met Sally, "I'll have what she is having".) Maybe Seabs needs to try what Toews tried last summer or just another program. |

You mean sounding moronic like saying last summer that Toews just doesn't seem capable of playing at a high level anymore.

Obviously you have no idea what Toews himself said helped turn his career back on track and it wasn't these idiotic claims about diet or training. |

Actually the moron is the poster that started the narrative that Seabrook and Toews weren't dedicated to training. |

Toews said his problem wasn't physical it was confidence. So there goes that theory - GPHawksfan
Ok. Let's say its confidence. Toews loses confidence for two years and posters say he will never be the Toews of prior years. Yet he comes back looking great this year, arguably as good as ever.
But Seabs is washed up and cannot comeback and play better next year than the last two years, even a little. It seems a little inconsistent.

He did not. He said his confidence/morale was shaken after being unable to play up to his standards, but he also admitted to lingering back injury issues that finally stopped bothering him this year.
First time he had actually admitted to those. |

Toews won't say it publicly, but the way he was used was also a big part of his offensive drop-off.
Said differently, the inability of the GM to bring in a center that can actually win faceoffs AND play on the penalty kill facilitated the overuse of #19 in situations that did not capitalize on his offensive talents.
Playing a lot with Kane doesn't hurt either... |

Pretty amazing that Jan Rutta, acquired in January in Slater Koekkoek deal w Chicago, looks like he’ll be in #TBLightning top six to open playoffs. Been a smart, steady defenseman who makes good reads. Earned trust from coaches. On right side w Sergachev |

In addition to finally admitting to lingering injuries, Toews also mentioned how he was being used has changed and that has helped. |

Rutta is a guy who I think fell out of favor here but wasn't a bad player. I thought his mobility was suffering a bit from groin injury or something but he seemed capable. I had higher hopes for him this year based on his performance last year. |

Not that I'm that much of a baseball fan but I seem to recall Ryne Sandberg started his MLB career going hitless with something like 0-30 ... before he went on to have a HOF career. Good thing the posters on this site weren't deciding Sandberg was worthless before he got that first hit.
