If next season's team "outperforms" this season's team, as in as bad or worse, I'd bet my house on them both being fired.

No to Carlyle. He couldn’t coach his way out of a paper bag when he was in Toronto.

hire the swede
- homiedclown

I'd love to read more about him. This process needs to be a 'learning from mistakes' hire. Whatever you saw Phil do wrong, make sure the other guy won't. He can't be making terrible roster decisions. He needs to actually teach these guys and be able to fix the same dumb errors every night. Phil did some nice things too, mostly off ice, communication and the such, and hopefully the next guy has those traits as well.

Find a guy who gives a poop about the players, and can actually develop AND coach an NHL squad.

Can the Swede do that? Who knows.

If you're going to bring in a retread coach then you bring back Lindy over all of them.

This is actually a fact. I would rather have Gum and Garden Gloves co-coaching.

I'm not touching the Swede as a coach, I don't care how many we have on this team. We need an NHL proven coach for this team, no more experiments.

I agree, mostly. I'm all for innovative new HCs, but this team just can't do it anymore. He's a perfect experiment for the Sens.

I didn't back read, so my apologies if Im repeating what others have said.

Its such a tough call what to do here. A new exciting, young-minded outlook on things, the type of coach that can relate to the young guys (I.E: Taylor), or a guy that knows how to be a head coach and dioesnt have to figure it out on the fly. Just look at what Trotz did on the island. They lost the onloy elite player they've had in 20 years and got a lot better.

Id say no to Carlyle too. I cant see him relating to the young guys here. Honestly, Im not crazy about the Joel Q idea either. Hes been at the top of the mountain with a lot of stud talent, but Id prefer a guy that still hungry to get there. "our guy"

I really don't know what the right move is herem but that's why JBotts is making big money.

Doesn't sound like the Wild are letting him go, they see there failure as to having to many injuries and player failures.

I want their search to be far and wide, but as far as retreads, he's my No. 1.

This is an interesting read about the state of the Wild, with a lot of Boudreau info from Michael Russo. The guy is the Tim Graham of Minnesota.

I think Id be ok with that too. Hes a perfect example of a guy that just knows how to be a head coach. If for no other reason, a steady hand to right the ship.

I know this was a discussion the other day, and maybe I'm taking a swing at the hornet's nest...

“I’m sure Paul’s going to do his best job to have the right people in place to be better than we were this year,” Staal said.

Eric Staal, a captain in Carolina and respected vet, calling his GM by his first name. Again, I don't think it means anything.

The team would’ve respected a three time Stanley Cup champion if not then no one was going to save them

I don’t like AV at all he couldn’t win it with the king or the Sedin twins and Roberto

Q took 3 different types of teams to the cup

- gerbe75pts

So if AV had won game 7 of the SCF, your opinion of him would be different?

That's rather reductive

Who ever has Twitter, a friend of mine said Skinner just posted something. I don't do Twitter, it was something of how he loves it here and wants to stay.

I don't see how AV wouldn't be a good idea. We need a coach that gets us to the dance before we can focus on the lack of success in finishing the run.

I'm torn on getting a proven coach in the NHL, and getting an innovative coach.

Either way, this team needs someone that can hold the players accountable, and change their philosophy on the fly.

"I like it here, i love it here. I like the guys, I like the city. I've had a great time."

It's from the team account during his clean out interview, if I had to guess.
