The silence from the media when he said it was deafening

"Jake, have you heard anything from team canada regarding the world championships?"

"No... I wish "

I’m surprised they even asked him that question

@Canucks

Tanev has been asked to go to the World Championship, "but it seems unlikely based on my injury."

Markstrom will play for Sweden.

Beagle: "Me and Schenn are also available!"

The media have asked some pretty stupid questions.
The one to Beagle, How long before the Canucks are in the spot Washington was in last season?
Beagle did a nice job of saying are you an idiot, by responding that, Washington was a contender for a decade, before winning it all.

Goldobin came off really upbeat and positive, said he's going to try to do what Hutton did last offseason and come back much stronger.

I'll be surprised if Benning doesn't trade him before next year, but it would be interesting to see if he can recommit himself

This is incredibly disturbing. As disturbing as Benning saying they are going to be aggressive in free agency.

Benning will qualify him I think. Sign him to a super cheap deal that makes it either possible to waive/trade him with minimal cap penalty.

Keep him around till you get good value and/or he turns into an everyday player?

Every member of the organization said playoffs. Which, is the goal obviously. I just wonder if they truly believe they are just one step away...

Pressure from FA to get the club in the PO's for the 50th year.

You had to know it was coming.

I think you are right.
With this team being so devoid of offensive talent, they don't have a lot of options.

thats what i think they will do. He is a RFA, so they will probably qualify him and make the call next year on what to do with him, waive or trade, OR, if he has a great summer, keep.

they really don't, and qualifying him won't be a huge hurdle against the cap. It gives them, and Goldobin, options next year.

Pretty sure he will be signed too, he’s shown offensive promise on a team that needs it badly.

They are definitely closer than you think. Remember our discussion the other day when you said 5 or 6 wins wouldnt make much of a difference? 5 wins puts the Canucks in the playoffs with a point to spare in the 8th slot. 6 wins ties them with Dallas and Vegas in the 6/7 slot.

I could easily see them making the playoffs if they add two pieces in the summer.

i didn't have a chance to watch the presser, but from what i have read, he seems to be pretty happy, says he loves and wants to play for Vancouver, and wants to have a summer much like Hutton did last year, get stronger/faster.

Just need to move on from our injured vets and replace them with capable players. Not easy but not trying is failing.

He also mentioned something about having too be harder on the puck, which I believe means, quit being a perimeter guy and fight for the puck along the boards.
