If he can’t get that roster over the hump then what makes you think he can get us over the hump ? He would elevate us to playoff status at least. We’ll just lose in the first round 5 years in a row.

Ton of pressure in TO, big 3 being there also, JT was a huge get.

Who do you want?

I'm liking the Gronborg idea more and more

- jcragcrumple

I like what I read about him.
Developmental coach is what this team needs...it is likely going to move from the 17th youngest roster to a much younger one with the likes of Olofsson, Nylander(?), and hopefully others.

Maybe he has a system these dummies can understand and execute.

Asplund, Olofsson, Nylander, Dahlin are swedes, plus tons of young players. He would be perfect imo

And we were still terrible...
but “it wasn’t working with ROR”
So it must have been his fault

That narrative is utter nonsense

- jdfitz77

where did you get the impression that I was blaming ror for everything?

Pach, I don't know if you have access to the code of this site, but I am formally lobbying you to auto correct ROR to He-Who-Shall-Not-Be-Named, like how sh!t becomes poop

That might be a little over the top...
But when ppl (not just you) say stuff like
“We were losing with him” and
“He’s a cancer”

Then yeah,
it’s sounds like he’s getting blamed

We’ve been losing with everyone here though
So bringing up that point doesn’t even make sense
Especially since we are STILL losing
And he’s playing great on a team that’s winning

Just sounds like sour grapes- for no reason

And now ppl wanna sign someone like Kevin Hayes
Who’s only a little younger, and a little less expensive
So there goes the Cap savings
I’d rather just have the player i already knew was really good

But again...
the point i was trying to make originally was how Botts has to share in the blame here
Not just Housley
Bc he’s made mistakes with guys he’s brought in (yes, the StL guys)
And this roster is still VERY FLAWED

He's not happy, it was his decision to fire Phil, 100% confident they can sign Skinner, coaching search has already started. Liked Risto and his play, just towards the last month was bad, stuff like that. ROR trade was mentioned also.

Weren't you frequently complaining about Taylor most of the season, for things you titled as curious decisions?
- kingcong39

I need to respond to this. My previous comments about Taylor had to do with what I saw about his lineup decisions early in the season and they were head scratchers to me and his PC explanations, ala Housley. I would say lately he has had less to work with because of the call ups and had to insert guys like Dalton Smith, Arvin Atwal, Tyler Randell and Kurt Gosselin. He's done a real good job with what he has had to work with. They still struggle against Syracuse and Charlotte and will need his full team in the playoffs.

I am fine with his promotion to Buffalo but only as an assistant. I do not want him as HC simply because I want an experienced NHL HC with SC experience. And I just don't think he's ready to be a HC. I guess I did change my mind somewhat on him, yes.

Thanks 89, appreciate it. Sounds like Risto will stay unless a trade blows his mind. I want an experienced HC. I certainly hope he gets it right this time. And don't overpay for Skinner please. I did catch the ROR comments at the end.

After that press conference he has to sign Skinner, he'd look ridiculous if he doesn't

every time they wanted to send Thompson down, he did something wow-worthy but they knew they'd be sending him down for the ahl playoffs

Since Botts is GM of Team Canada, I wonder if he'll have interest in Vigneault.
