Risto is a PP “specialist”

2 PPG in 2 seasons

- sbroads24

4 straight 40+ point seasons. The next closest d-man on our team had 19. Im not the biggest Risto supporter due to his poor analytics and his +/- being horrendous but we can't deny his offensive output.

TOP 2019 C'S

1 Jack Hughes - USA U18
2 Kirby Dach - SASKATOON
3 Dylan Cozens - LETHBRIDGE
4 Alex Turcotte - USA U18
5 Trevor Zegras - USA U18

Looks like Dylan Cozens or Kirby Dach
for us this yr unless we win the Lottery,
Both players are TwoWay Centerman with Large frames and smooth skating.

If we go off the board, I would grab Alex Turcotte He is the Mitch Marner of this Draft

- MEBSabresFAN

Glad they’re not making us wait too long to find out where we’re drafting. Having the lottery in between periods of a first round playoff game was so utterly stupid, even by NHL standards.

It’s going to be very interesting to see who gets drafted 3-10, it’s so wide open.

I’m sorry but where did Montour and Dahlin go?

No but we can contextualize it.

Relative to ice time. It isn’t impressive

Dahlin led the team, therefore he wouldn’t be between Risto and Bogo. Montour had 11 points or so as a Sabre.

I’m afraid he will be to start next season too, with the proverbial “short leash”. Let’s not forget how patient and cautious Botts is. And Phil is his boy, they talk every day and he loves his communication and his practices.

11 points in how many games? 21? Playing about 3 minutes less per game than Risto.

3 minutes a game over 21 games is 63 minutes or another 3 games worth of ice time. Which would make his PPG better than Risto’s

So at best, Risto is this teams third best offensive D man.

It's going to be uncomfortable listening to management and owners talk about how great the last two games went. And how much momentum it gives the team going into next season.

I fully expect them to downplay the atrociously played middle 50 games as well. Gotta stay positive I guess.

It will be BS 101 out of them tomorrow. At the very least, I hope Payne and Hajt are fired. I would like to see Steve Smith come back. I would be open to the idea of promoting Chris Taylor to an assistant next year, especially if guys like Olofsson, CJ or Borgen make the team. I would also like to see Taylor run the practices.

This would infuriate me, as it would reveal how low this franchise’s standards are.

I certainly hope they show us otherwise. I’m all about patience if the progress is obvious, but that is clearly not the case here.

"This season was unacceptable."
"We're disappointed."
"I take full responsibility."
"Do everything we can too..."
"We're looking at everybody to step up."
"Great growth from our young players."
And of course, "This won't happen again."

I'm trying to recall if Boughner was interviewed by Botts a few years ago. I would definitely consider Boughner as an associate coach.

That depends on the plan for next year. If Botts is thinking top 5 draft pick, goalie coach might stick around.

It's funny, it seemed Tallon was waiting for Housley and hired Boughner after it became clear Housley wanted to go to Buffalo. Lol, now Boughner will replace Housley and take his new team to the Final, (ala DeBoer and Gallant).
Boughner's Panther team was amazing this year, they managed to set the franchise record for goals scored in a season, while simultaneously setting the franchise mark for goals allowed in one season. At least it wasn't boring to watch, I guess.
They are too talented of a team to piss away yet another year. Tallon is aiming to bring in Q.
