Cool. Not holding my breath that Sullivan won't go back to Dumtang (and he's not necessarily wrong for doing so), but if Dumo stays out for one more game and Maatang plays well again, he's gotta at least consider keeping that together, right?

Well, he hope he would consider lots of things, but what good does it really do if it's either Maatta/Letang or Dumo/Guds if the that JJ/Schultz pairing doesn't change?

Because personally I think Dumbrandson would be a much better pairing that putting Maatta with Gudbranson because two not fast guys on the blue line scares me, and if the Letang pairing is gonna play at the same high level regardless of whether Maatta or Dumoulin play there, then Give me the better other pairing.

I also think that the coaching staff has a super high opinion of Dumoulin and there's a much bigger chance that they'd take Johnson off the Schultz pairing for Dumo than for Letang because they want Dumo in the top 4. I know they think highly of Maatta too, but they view him as a guy that can play up and down the lineup, which is funny because he's proven exactly the opposite of that, and they don't have that same stupid track record with Dumoulin of putting him with poopty partners to "elevate the pairing" unless injuries don't leave another choice.

My tl;dnr point is that if Sullivan keeps Maatta with Letang, I think Johnson will get bumped off Schultz in favor of Dumoulin. If Dumoulin gets reunited with Letang, I think there's little to no chance Johnson gets bumped off of Schultz in favor of Maatta. I doubt they stick with Maatta-Letang, but if they do, I'll be pretty surprised if we see Dumoulin get put on the third pair with Gudbranson.
