I was worried that was all he had.

It's not the case.

Not right.

Pominville was easily one of the top-6 best forwards on this team. Okposo was not

- jcragcrumple

Ummmm.... idk about that?

Pominville: 72gp 16g-14a-30pts
*and played a fair amount with Eichel

Okposo: 77gp 14g-14a-28pts
*virtually no time with Eichel

I’d argue that 10-15 of those Okposo points were registered on the PP though and Pominville did not get much time at all on PP1 or even PP2 for that matter.

Even if Olofsson taps out as a 3LW that shot alone should guarantee him 20 goal seasons with his work on the PP with Eichel and Dahlin out there garnering attention.

Any way you slice it, those were the 2/3 RW's and their combined production was poor.

That I can agree with. I love Pommer’s contributions to the team over the years but it’s time to move on. Okposo however we are stuck with

I'm assuming okposo had more playing time on average then pommer?

But Derek Roy had 81 back in an era where scoring was much more prevalent and he had a RW with 80 points so Jack stinks.

Why couldn’t Jack put up 95 when his next closest teammate has 63 points ? Jack should score unassisted or somehow pass the puck into the net himself. That’s pure laziness from our wannabe captain.

- Pegullaville

False, goals per team per game in 07-08 was 2.78, this year it's 3.02. This is the highest scoring year since the first season post lost season, at 3.08.

Don't get it twisted, Derek Roy was nowhere near the player Jack is.

best finish now is fourth pick in the draft (unless we move up in the lottery). and a win tomorrow puts us in fifth or sixth...

safe to say I hope the wings bet us.

30 points on a bad team with bad coaching at 36 years old???

Definitely one of the few guys that hit expectations

I think we move on from 6 forwards on the current roster

Wilson
Girgs
Larsson
Sobatka
Pommer
Okposo
Nylander
Skinner

Agreed. RW needs a face lift. They can't bring back the same 4.

Well playing on Eichel’s line is pretty much equivalent to getting PP1 time
And it’s not like Okposo got a TON

Okposo- 9pp pts
Pommer- 2pp pts

I guarantee Pommer had more than 7pts on Eichel’s line

So all I’m saying is...
how different were they really?

I think it’s A LOT CLOSER than most wanna admit

Okposo: 10 PPP, 2 of them with Jack. 17 EV, none with Jack.

Pominville: 2 PPP, both with Jack. 28 EV, 19 of them with Jack.

Pominville is also 6 years older I believe ? Honest question. Any way you slice it that’s almost 12M of our cap for not even 60 points between 2 players. Yikes.

21 of those points were with Eichel. When you take away the points he chipped in on the 4th line, his middle 6 production was close to nothing. I expected a solid 3rd line contribution form him. He didn't provide that.

I wish him well. Time to move on.

Thanks for taking the time to look it up, guess I was right about Okposo in that 10-15 range for PP points. Like I mentioned in my response to Fitz. That’s just too much money for the production we are getting out of both players.

No one disagrees on that

But ppl on here talk like Pommer was decent & Okposo was horrible

That just wasn’t the case

They were at least in the same ballpark,
and Okposo was actually BETTER away from Jack statistically

So, without Jack...

Okposo- 25pts
Pommer- 9pts

But about Pommer...

I’ve always liked him
And idk if u guys could see it on tv,
But the crowd went nuts when he scored
It was pretty cool
Gave a standing ovation for a couple min
Pommer even skated back out towards center ice to acknowledge the crowd,
and they got even louder

And when he got interviewed on the ice after the game, there was a nice “Pom-in-ville” chant going on from the whole crowd

Really nice moments if it’s his last game here

What’s your point?

NO ONE is saying he’s worth the $$$

Did u miss where i said,
“No one disagrees with that” ?

All I’m saying is that it’s just not accurate to rip Okposo for his play & then say that Pommer has been decent

If anything...
i think u actually gotta give Okposo the edge

He should’ve played PP1 and with Jack
ALL YEAR LONG (like i said before the season)
Then maybe he’d have hit numbers where he’d be tradable & we wouldn’t be stuck with him

historically speaking, the 4th overall seed has moved up in the lottery a few times already.
