PP is stale. We need those extra goals.

If I were Maurice I would move Schief over to Laine's spot, put Roslovic in where Schief is , Buff back as QB, and move Laine to the second unit where he doesn't face the oppositions top penalty unit. The 2nd unit also circulates around a lot more with Ehlers and Myers so this might create room for Laine.

BTW...its beyond obvious that since about mid-season while other teams lay off other Jets on the PP , the minute Laine touches the puck they are on him because they know he tends to cough it up more often than not when pressured.

The "Beard" will be back for the playoffs so we shall see. Here to hoping it gets really long !

Yes, Go Hawks Go! Just hope they have some gas left in the tank as they finish on a back to back.

We might also want to be cheering for a Dallas loss and Colorado win tonight. Should the Jets somehow finish first I think there is little disagreement that Colorado would be the better opponent. However, if Nashville wins then we'd rather see them play Dallas.

Its pretty important that the Jets win tonight though. The last thing we need is them having to arrive home only to have to pick up again in a day or two and travel to St. Louis while the Blues get to rest at home. Jets whiteout is a big home advantage.

This is the same coach that led the Jets to be Worldbeaters last season. The issue is not about having good systems or a good plan. This is about execution of the plan by the players. Like copp said, the commitment is not there like it was last year. That part could be on the coach and his ability to create ‘buy in’ but we don’t know that. I am more inclined to believe that the team has lost the tightness that leads to chemistry on the ice. Maybe related to the team becoming frustrated with growing pains of Laine and his shinny style hockey. All will be well when he is turns back into hatrick Laine. Maybe it’s all about the beard....

Or the team has grown tired of wheeler and Shiefele running the show, gettting all the minutes, not being split up and playing like crap????

Bottom line, I see
Your point about execution but since you can’t trade your whole team the easiest change is coach.
-Islanders lost their best player and a new coach made them better.
-Calgary misses the playoffs last year, makes a big trade, new coach and wins the west.

Wheeler coughs it up as much if not more than Laine, both players can’t handle being pressured on the PP

Agree, unless changes to line up on the ice and attitude off the ice change it doesn’t matter who we play.
If I was coach and buff broke his stick when not put out on the PP, I’d make sure he didn’t see any PP time the entire game. Baby!!

Mike Mcintyre has an article in the FP that is worthy of reading. Problems in the room seem to be a real issue. Buf is po'd he is not on the #1 pp, it sounds like the room is going to hell in a hand basket.

You certainly make a good point with NYI and the results speak for themselves without Tavares and with Trotz.

I guess it is reflective that there are some real issues going on.

Trouba spent the entire 2 minutes out there, Wheeler and Scheif are eating up the minutes as well on the pp with diminshing results, same #1 pp set up and no changes.

So, sadly it issupporting that some real issues are bubbling up to the top.

The funny thing is that some people on this board have called Laine a "generational goal scorer", yet he can't even finish #1 on his own team in goals. Lol

It’s the way he scores that is remarkable, obviously not quantity this year. Every one likes Laine when he scores two a game, and he has 7 more years before reaching his likely peak goals scored season.
