Either one of two things are going to happen:
The Jets get knocked out in the first round or they win the Stanley Cup.
If they get knocked out the Jets should do the following trade.
To FLA: Jacob Trouba, Patrick Laine, Mathieu Perreault
To WPG: Vincent Trochek, Jonathan Huberdeau, Aaron Ekblad, Fla 2019 1st round pick |

go big or go home,
Laine, Connor, Samberg, little, Comrie and 2020 first for McDavid and hell, we can even take Lucic. lol

Schiefele and Wheeler have similar times to most of the other key forwards on other teams. I am not buying into the burnout theory.

They are not doing well due to the fact Maurice always plays them against the opposition's best line. Well, the opposition's best lines have been dominating them for the last 1 1/2 months. Time to put the best checking line against their best. IMHO

I was wondering how long it would take after your return to propose your first trade! You are the Ultimate Trader! (no disrespect)
But since you included Laine in there, I feel obligated to advise you that Rexy might possibly suggest that you de-activate your HB account. Just saying........ |

Like I have stated in the past. Laine is on the same career trajectory as Jimmy Carson. Just look at the similarities in the numbers.
Jimmy Carson first three years in the NHL goal totals: 37, 55, 49 after that 21, 21, 34, 25, 12, 11, 9, and 1.
Patrick Laine first three years NHL goal totals: 36, 44, 30, next year 20? year after 15? |

Ok, but according to many posters on HB, that is the coaches fault. Its all Pomo's fault. He screwed Postma, Dano, Petan, and some argue Roslovic is in the process of getting screwed by the coach. Am I missing anyone else whose career was destroyed by PoMo?
So, I am convinced by the other HB poster's, by the Wpg Jets HB correspondent and of course twitter, that its all the coaches fault. |

I know what you are trying to do, but do people on here honestly believe that our play for the last 3 months is on laine more so than the coach? please tell me this can not be the case?
laine has not played any worse than wheeler and sheif and laine doesn't make up the lines or combos.
teams have figured out how to beat us, its that simple and our coach cant make adjustments to that. I loathe the way myers plays but id never blame all our failures on any one or two or three or four players, because we have shown the ability to win. teams have figured us and out and we need to adjust, our coach still thinks if we play our game we will win. its sad really
but if you guys think, trading laine, playing 55 & 26 less and taking trouba off the PP will fix everything. good luck with that. |

I am with you on this one. Home ice is nice, but my opinion would be to avoid Dallas first round.
I didn’t like Buf’s pass to try and hit Connor in the slot at the end. I think it was Connor and he was covered (was it three Avs?). He doesn’t get a shot or control and now Buf is caught behind everyone and the Avs race down with Connor trying to catch up and Buf is way behind and out of the play completely.
Like 2.0 says, the way Dallas is playing along with Bishop, good luck to whoever plays them. They are going to be tough to beat.
I sure like Helle’s game though. Our goalie is certainly playing the right way at the right time. - CharlieDog
I think 33 brings unique value to this team, but I experience him like an aorta- bringing lifeblood to the body- with a weakening aneurism, likely to burst at any second🙃....... |

I thought it was hysterically funny yesterday when I saw that PoMo had put Laine on Little's wing. That has not worked in the last 2 years. For some reason, PoMo believes that its just a matter of time before it does. |

I totally agree. Buf is my favorite Jet by far. I just didn't like the play, that's all.
But, like many wise coaches will say, you can't teach aggressiveness in sport. So, although I didn't like the result, he was trying to make it happen. |

It’s my pleasure.
I have a confession while I am it. As a self confessed advance stat dinosaur, I am coming clean to say that it’s because of a Rexy that I have ventured into the world of advance stats.
Although I am still very much an advance stat neophyte due to limited schedule and time to scour the advance stat sites, it has prompted me to deepen my understanding to include a larger picture in today’s game. |

This is the same coach that led the Jets to be Worldbeaters last season. The issue is not about having good systems or a good plan. This is about execution of the plan by the players. Like copp said, the commitment is not there like it was last year. That part could be on the coach and his ability to create ‘buy in’ but we don’t know that. I am more inclined to believe that the team has lost the tightness that leads to chemistry on the ice. Maybe related to the team becoming frustrated with growing pains of Laine and his shinny style hockey. All will be well when he turns back into hatrick Laine. Maybe it’s all about the beard.... |

PP is stale. We need those extra goals.
If I were Maurice I would move Schief over to Laine's spot, put Roslovic in where Schief is , Buff back as QB, and move Laine to the second unit where he doesn't face the oppositions top penalty unit. The 2nd unit also circulates around a lot more with Ehlers and Myers so this might create room for Laine.
BTW...its beyond obvious that since about mid-season while other teams lay off other Jets on the PP , the minute Laine touches the puck they are on him because they know he tends to cough it up more often than not when pressured.
The "Beard" will be back for the playoffs so we shall see. Here to hoping it gets really long !
