RW used to be a solid blogger but he’s mailed it in and got lazy with his writing this season. There’s not nearly as much analysis as there used to be.

Jack Johnson stinks
Cullen is slow
Here's some graphs telling you what is fun and what is dull.
Malkin > Toews

There, I just saved you a bunch of reading. I used to like him as a regular contributor with the old blogger, but once he took over, it's been a steady decline. And say what you will about Tanner and his idiotic takes, but at least he'll converse in the comments with his readers.

So this is in a Triblive article from last night: “Not only do we want to clinch. We want to get in the best position possible,” said injured defenseman Kris Letang, who has not been ruled out for a return Thursday...

Yeah but I dont get people complaining about how much he uses charts and graphs now, when he doesnt use them near as much as he used to. Some blogs they're non existent.

I did like it when he was more thorough with the analysis but I still appreciate having anything Pens related to read.

Yep. His poop used to be way more covered with charts and graphs (and better analysis). It’s not even that I disagree with most of his criticisms or assessments of the team, it’s that he just beats the same drum so much. He doesn’t really dive deeper into things like he used to. He’ll dabble in some stuff but then he’ll just revert back to his old poop. With the amount of data publicly available, I can form my Ken analysis from all the guys I follow on Twitter (which I do) but I still enjoy reading an article that’s got some effort into it, which is why I like reading Jesse’s stuff at the Athletic. Hell, I think the Pensburgh blog provides way better analysis than Ryan Wilson nowadays.

So I'm 3 episodes into season one. I wouldn't really say it's scary as in jump scares or disturbing imagery (aside from when the show comes on or the tooth monster shows up), but it definitely has an unsettling feeling as you watch it. Good stuff.

Oh, and when the old lady took a hook to that girl's throat...that was a pure wtf moment.

- jmatchett383

Yeah, unsettling is a good word. Just creepy to me. You’ll never have a real jumping moment, just kind of haunting.

I've heard there's a jump moment of sorts in a later season, but don't want to let on what I've heard (and I've just skimmed some info, don't wanna spoil it for myself).

Also, there's a huge wiki on Candle Cove where they treat it like a real show, it's pretty nuts. And I wish Channel Zero would had stayed with the Candle Cove idea. I get that it's an anthology, it's just such a cool idea. I hope to have the first season finished this weekend.

I would jump to Season 4 titled "Dream Door" after. Season 2 is pretty good, a little more weird than season 1, still kind of creepy, but it's not as strong. I'd leave it for last.

Season 3, "Butcher Block" started out looking to be creepy as (frank), but got SUPER weird very soon on and lost me.

I’m not being a downer but looking at the Pens Islanders without homer goggles on the Islanders take the cake. Pens are going to be thinking they will breeze past a hungrier, more physical more shot blocking team. We needed the Islanders in the Third round. I’m sure Tampa won’t do any damage because they never do. I guess it’s hard to try to finish low though.

I don't like dignifying your posts for the most part, but there's a modicum of truth here. Not so much that the Islanders are hungrier, but that there is concern about the Pens finding that next gear.

Going back to last season the Pens never found the next gear, a-game or whatever you want to call it. It could have been physical burnout from two long seasons, who knows. This season started the same though. The Pens just seemed to content to play ten minutes of real hockey a game.

However, with the exception of Tuesday, the Pens have seemed to find that next level again since all the trades happened. I'm not saying it has been every game, but this team seems much hungrier than last year's team.

You look at last game and wonder what more do the Pens need to motivate them to go for blood than securing a playoff spot? I don't think there will that issue this year, but it's definitely something that could be.

Evgeni Malkin and Kris Letang both participating in the morning skate. Both are wearing normal jerseys, it appears.

Kind of worries me that Letang wasn't even practicing prior to the last loss and no he's in a regular jersey? Pens need to be careful here.

I'm already feeling bad for Gudbranson. He's finally begun turning his game around and once Dumo is healthy he'll get saddled with him who's name we shall not speak.

You think Sully is gonna stick JJ on the third pairing? I don’t see him breaking up JJ-Schultz to be honest with you.

Man that 4th line that the Isles have own free real estate in your head, don't they? If we're fully healthy, a line that's gonna get under 10 minutes at even strength isn't gonna turn the tide.

hahah I dont understand his take on the Bolts not doing damage in the playoffs...they've been to the ECF's 3 of the last 4 years and the cup final once in that span. Most franchises can only dream of this. The money to be made by reaching the ECF alone is extremely high.

It's weird because yesterday RW stated that Dumo's injury was mild in nature and if it was the playoffs he would be playing....this is pretty damn close to being of playoff importance.
