Steve Ott was a really cool guy when he was here
Used to come eat at the place i worked at the time at least every other week
Myers, Weber & Stafford used to come with him quite a bit too
He’d bring some young guys around too

- jdfitz77

I am glad he was a cool dude that scored all of 18 goals in 2 years for us, with all due respect. I don't care if the team is full of Richard heads as long as we win.

I am sick of losing and I am sick of this management/owners team making excuses every year. I hear words like Culture and Patients and they are young they will get better.. FRANK that, they suck, the coach sucks, right now the GM sucks, the owner suck, 90% of the players suck, but hey, they have a great culture...... Well FRANKING culture don't put points in the win column...

I feel better now, sorry

he can be loaned to ontario to play where moulson played
- homiedclown

you're still gonna have about a $1m cap-hit...t-pegs can buy him out and pay $1m each for two seasons, which is $1m less than the $3m in salary he's owed

kim pulls way more string then people know

including evander being gone

- homiedclown

I've heard that from someone else, so i'm not really surprised...wonder if that situation might cause people to have a different perspective on the trade overall

scott Wilson can put up 14 points at a third of the price of Sobotka and less than either gus or larry
- Michael Pachla

A mix of Erod, Wilson, Asplund, a new PK vet and another modern, speedy 4th liner should be the mix for the 4th line and 2 extra forward spots imo. Larsson and Wilson are functionally interchangeable to me

Okposo, Sobotka and Girgensons need to be purged

That’s why I’d rather just trade him & keep half his salary this coming season

Even though it’s only 1mil for 2020,
I’d rather just get him off the books ASAP

He was spending a decent amount of time on line2 with ROR that season
Probably inflated those point totals
Doubt he scores much if he’s on line4 where he belongs

I read, and what I gleaned from it is that you're resigned to keeping 4 of the worst players on the team. That's not an acceptable outcome.
- jcragcrumple

Seriously...

I said to TRADE Sobatka
How is that keeping him???

I guess reading wasn’t the issue
It was comprehension

Who cares what he scores on the fourth line...if he can get me 6-10 goals and 10-15 helpers, that would be OUTSTANDING. he is gong to play 6 mins a night and play the PK.. IMO he is absolutely a better option then Sabotka

Sobatka would probably be ok if he was exclusively used as a 4th liner
But we are stuck with Okposo (I’d think)
And with Girgs & Larsson actually playing pretty decent in their roles this year, i see them coming back

I think we could get someone to take Sobatka
Even if it means we keep some salary

Ummmmm....
i was literally saying we should’ve never acquired Sobatka since we traded for him

And even though he could probably be an ok 4th liner,
we already have better and cheaper options

Thus,
I’ve said REPEATEDLY that we should TRADE him

Not keep him... TRADE him

I just don’t see how u aren’t getting what I’m saying
Seems very clear

And if u have a realistic plan to get rid of Okposo... I’m all ears
But that’s easier said than done
And u even admitted u don’t have a good plan for it

Where would Reinhart and Skinner rank on Calgary’s, Torontos, Winnipeg’s, San Joses, Boston’s, or Nashville’s scoring ranks ? I’d say they would be the 4th or 5th best forward respectively on any of those rosters. McDavid has Drasatil. Monahan has Johnny Hockey. MacKinnon has Rantenen, Bruins big 3, Toronto’s top 4. Scheifele and Wheeler habe each other with Connor/Laine rotating in. When Eichel has an elite side kick that will help. Reinhart and Skinner are top 6 forwards that Eichel has lifted and benefitted from to an extent but they aren’t in the same category of talent that others have at their disposal. We have a dismal power play, we don’t have any other line that requires a team’s attention. Every time Eichel steps on the ice he has to do everything. Reinhart and Skinner are good hockey players but aren’t elite. Every cup contender has at the minimum of 2 or 3 elite forwards, we have 1.

IDK. If he can score 15 goals/year on the 4th/2nd PP, I probably wouldn't pay that steep of a price (the 1st) to get rid of him. Maybe by the time Seattle comes around we can pawn him off on them?

Steep price to pay for Cap relief
I think I’d keep Okposo for now if it means we’d have to give up that much

That 1st could (hopefully) end up being a good player for us

Jack Eichel is NOT having an impressive season. I don't care what team he plays on, or what he plays for. He is a great player. But tell me how comparing this year to Derek Roy's best season is wrong? People never give Roy credit for his good seasons but everyone is writing home about Eichel's current 77 point season? It is simply not impressive.

You know what I do like about Jack? That he calls other players a pu$$y and tells them to go (frank) themselves. I LOVE that he is a gigantic douche-bag d!ck-head. At least he has the balls to call someone out to their face, unlike that whiny little mitch Ryan Miller who pouted and blamed everyone but himself for getting constantly beat high glove side.

I like Eichel. But his season has NOT been impressive. Cut the sh!t with the fvcking excuses, seriously. If he played on Toronto, blah blah, if Reinhart and Skinner played in Calgary, blah blah. Man give it a rest. This entire organization mailed it in after the New Year and they should all be embarrassed and ashamed...

The absolute worst part is the complete lack of effort and passion. They say they hate losing but they don't act like it. Of course, I would say I hated my job and skip all the way to the bank every day if I got paid 1/10th of what they make.

Bunch of trained, professional ATHLETES and we have the local, unedumacated, drunk denizens making excuses for them like their parents did to them when they realized they bred a loser offspring who will only amount to a beer belly, a flannel and an STD on Allen St. some night at 3AM drooling all over himself trying to light a cigarette while talking to an African refugee about how Bret Hull's foot was in the crease and as per the rules at the time, it wasn't a goal and then goes home alone and masturbates half-hard for an hour and passes out only to wake up in a puddle of his own piss and vomit.
