So does that mean they're listening and it just isn't working?

Or rather...

It isn't working, is it because they're listening?

I blame Golisano who wouldn't spend the money when we had the players.
Now we have an owner who is willing to spend the money but can't find the right players to give it to. Very frustrating...

Check out our drafting results from 2009 to 2013...not really good.

There has to be a ton of turnover for this team to resemble a playoff roster come October

I don't know if Botts can pull it off

I have lost faith completely

To be honest I haven't watched a game in weeks

- Stripes77

I honestly think it’s as simple as

Hiring a good coach
Getting competent goaltending
Getting Olofsson/Nylander/CJ Smith/Pilut here full time
Trading Ristolainen for a top 6 FWD
Getting a good FA like Kevin Hayes/Donskoi

I don’t think we’re as bad as we have been. They’ve totally quit and the coach is out to lunch

adding four full-time rookies is never easy, especially to a team that will probably finish 31st and 28th in back-to-back years

I don't think Smith is here full time next year but the rest sure

Goaltending was fine in the beginning of the year and by fine I mean the reason they were winning

I am seriously starting to doubt if Skinner stays

Jack Eichel is having a Derek Roy type of season and people are slobbing his knob like he is top 10 in scoring.

Career highs in goals and assists, points... in a year where there are over ten 40-goal scorers, forty players at a .ppg or bettet, and almost ten more players over 90 points, with possibly 5 guys who will finish with 100 points.

He has been a disappointment because he ain't a selke candidate now, is he? Meanwhile, almost identical numbers from a true 2-way center that we traded away...

Jack has not had a special season. He does not dominate. He is what he is right now - a step above Derek Roy.

Ullmark is on pace to play double the most games he's ever played in a season and Hutton will play in about 20 more games than he has played in for the past 5 seasons. Could be part of the problem. That and very few forwards that play any defense in our own end.

I actually did a small study on Murray's draft record. Outside the 1st round, there's been 4 players to graduate or at least play in the NHL (14-16). Olofsson, Borgen, Guhle and Lemieux, with Asplund highly likely to crack next year. So let's say 4 for now, at least 5 by next year.

Tampa had 6 players graduate and/or play in the NHL. DeAngelo, Point, Cirelli, Joseph, Howden and Hajek. Four of those are full time players, and two were traded and will be with the Rags full time next year or the year after, while DeAngelo is already full time. The one standout here is obviously Point. The quality of players, overall, that Tampa drafted, even exluding Point, can be argued that our guys may be on par, if not developing slower.

The biggest issue here is that we haven't drafted a Point in recent memory. Brian Campbell was probably our best mid-late round pick since the 90's. Pominville was and has been our best 2nd rounder.

The Sabres can draft NHL talent, especially recently, outside the 1st round. The problem is, they can't find impact players. At every level of the lineup. Joseph blows Girgensons out of the (frank)ing water when it comes to positive impact.

Upon listening to the WGR "Paul Call" this morning and the rather epic blowup from Howard and Jeremy ...
I have realized Gordon is in fact Paul.
Nice going Gordon Paul

That's my favorite rant of the year. I don't always agree with Jeremy's takes on the team, but Howard and Jeremy couldn't be more right about the whole, sad thing. I've already demonstrated how I'm sick of blaming the good players. But they're right. Stop ignoring the bad, and stop focusing on the spot of good we have left.
